Did you wear maternity pantyhose or stockings when you were pregnant?

For some reason I had never heard about maternity pantyhose until today! Imagine that! I guess it only makes sense there would be such a thing, considering that many career women still have to keep up a very professional image, even during pregnancy. When I was pregnant, I tried to avoid anything binding on my stomach altogether. Perhaps it's because we live here in the hot climate, but the thought of wearing yet another unnecessary layer of clothing while pregnant (and suffering hot flashes) was repugnant to me. So, how about you? Did you wear maternity stockings or pantyhose while you were pregnant? Were they comfortable? Which brands are the best?

I never knew they existed when I was pregnant. And there is no way in the world I would have worn them! I was pregnant in the middle of the summer. Had it not been for my modesty I would have been perfectly happy to run around naked all summer as hot as it was. There is no way I would wear something I absolutely detest anyways lol.

Tell me about it! I couldn't believe it when I saw them either. I detest pantyhose as is, so why should I wear them when I'm big as a house and moody! The second I saw maternity pantyhose I knew that a man must have invented them.

Nope, never wore maternity stockings as I was living in Samoa at the time and it was too hot to wear anything LOL just as well I had lots of lavalava (wrap arounds) to keep me nice and cool lol

Those sound divine! I would try almost anything on most days here during the summer. The winters are ultra mild, but the summers are brutal, even with air conditioning.

I did have a pair with my third pregnancy. My oldest sister was getting remarried again (yes, that's exactly how I meant it) and my mom sprung for a nice maternity dress and pantyhose. They were alright but sizing was difficult and they were pretty expensive. I was almost 7 months along at the time and the very biggest size for my height was just barely fitting me then, the left a red mark at their waistline. There is no way they would have fit all the way through the end. They are definitely better than regular pantyhose but wearing dress pants and knee highs seems much easier to me if you have to dress up during a pregnancy.

wow stockings never knew they made them for pregnant women. For my first pregnancy I did buy and wear the maternity thongs. There are just somethings I didn't want to have my panty line showing for. I always wore thongs before that so they didn't bother me. This last pregnancy I didn't wear thongs so not sure if I could still wear them or not.

I have never used maternity pantyhose, although I wish I had heard of them when I was pregnant. Would have tried anything!! LOL I have heard of a pregnancy belly sling that wraps around your stomach, and helps to support it. I never used that either, but my aunt did, this last time she was pregnant. She said when she put it on it was like heaven. You may want to ask you doctor about it. I know she got hers for free somewhere.

I will have to try that belly sling thing. My belly was so big that most people just assumed I was having a boy. It was a girl actually. I have never seen a belly that big. I swear, I could get up from dinner and turn sideways and practically clear the table with one giant swipe of my mammoth belly. I'll bet the belly ling would have helped. Must try that! Thanks for the tip.

No way! I had both my children in August and it was very warm both times! lol In fact with my eldest I was in hospital for months before he was born so didn't really wear anything apart from nightshirts! lol I do feel sorry for those professionals who have to wear appropriate clothing - I couldn't even get shoes to fit when I was having my youngest my feet were so huge! xxx
