Do your kids get in the way of working at home?

My little kid is at the age where she couldn't possibly understand (from a logical point of view) that Mommy works online for money so that she doesn't have to get an outside job. For her, my computer is some big play-toy. And, if she's not annoyingly clicking the on/off button to the screen, then she's yelling in my ear that it's time to play Elmo games online. I've thought about taking a part time work at home customer service job where I would communicate with business customers over the telephone for customer service related issues. However, I am not sure that I could get one free moment without her running through the room yelling at the top of her voice. Definitely not a professional environment, to say the least. So, I guess you would say that my daughter is definitely not helping me make money online! So, how about you? Do your kids help you with your home business or just get in the way? At what age does a child become old enough to understand that working at home does not mean playtime all day long? Would love some tips on how I can balance my "mom" job with my online jobs for maximum benefit. Thanks!

Dear beautyqueen26, Do not blame your kid. It is wonderful to have a kid at home and creating a lot of problems as your kid does. I like kids. My duaghter is 24 years old. Next door neighbour's kid visit our house often and she one of the most problematic kid but we love her. The way she speaks and understand the things always give us pleasure. My wife is very fond of her. My wife will give to the kid anything, including cell phone for her to play. She disturb me a lot while I am working on computer. Somehow or other I like her mischief. You are very lucky. God bless you and your daughter a happy, healthy and prosperous life. Have a nice day.

My little one is only a year and a half old, so it is really hard to get work done if he's awake and not in the mood to play by himself. I know I wouldn't be able to do any kind of work on the phone, because I never know when my son is going to play by himself. My son turns off my computer when he gets mad because I'm not playing with him. Luckily, I can still get some work done every day, as long as I do it while he is napping or having a snack. My husband will usually spend an hour or two outside playing with him every day, too. As long as he is just working regular shifts.
