Do you buy stocks online?

I've been considering buying some stocks and just trying it out a little bit. Right now I do put some money aside every month to go into a mutual fund account for retirement, but I really don't do anything with it, it goes straight into the account and I meet once a year with my banker to go over it. I would like to start off slowly and do some stock buying of my own, mostly to be more aware of the stock market and maybe earn a little money along the way. Here's the thing, I really don't want to put in a bunch of money upfront while I am learning. As I look through some of the online stock buying sites, e*trade, etc, it looks like there are some low money options, if I am understanding it all correctly. Is there anyone out there that buys their own stocks? Do you use an online stock site? If so, which one? Any advice for a possible newbie?

I traded stocks online. I made some money. I am not expecting capital depreciation of the stock much but I am focus more on dividend. I think dividen is easier to predict compare to stock price. I think you have to read references on how Warren Buffet invest in stock. He is the most succesful investor known. Never invest in stock without adequate knowledge. FYI my remiser said only 5% of people who invest in stock make good money, others are made some or loosing their shirt. Good luck!

Thank you for providing that information. I'll look for Warren Buffet. I am very much interested to find out how he succeeded.
