I just got my email for my club Pogo subscription. When they first started the Club Pogo, I could've swore it was only around 20-25.00 to join for the year. Ok, I didn't mind paying that, I liked the games and such, I could afford it, and it was somewhat reasonable. Then they kept raising the price. Last year, it was 34.99 for a year. Now, it's up to 39.99 for 12 months. That's just ridiculous in my opinion. So, I have 28 more days left to play some of my favorite games, and not have to deal with intermissions lol. Oh well, I just can't see spending that much money to play a few extra games and avoid an intermission. And for the badges and minis, I don't really care about those anyway. So, unless they come through with a drastic price reduction, it's Adios to me :) And for those of you who's subscriptions are coming due, be forewarned, it's about 40.00 now....

That is a crock. They think their badges are worth $40 and you can't take them with you. They are thieves. I do not use pogo since it went up to $35. That is way too much.

I agree. And I balked at the 35.00 last year as well, but just went ahead and did it anyway. I swear, it was only 20 or 25. when they first started, that's a big difference/price jump I think. I enjoyed doing the weekly badges/challenges, they were fun, but I won't lose any sleep over not having it lol. Another thing that amazed me, them charging for special badges! I don't like them that much to pay for getting a badge! Between that, their sponsors, and the people that are paying for membership, you'd think there'd be enough $$ for them to NOT have to keep raising the fees every year! Oh well, like I said, won't lose any sleep over it :)

Yes something else. I don't get to play my album now that I am not a member. I missed it at first but now I don't even think about it unless someone brings it up.

yup when i first signed up it was 19.99 for a year due to the aol discount and i had already been playing for free via aol games (before they changed the rules) then after that it was 29.99 and now its 39.99 and now discounts avalible for current members as they offer for NEW customers ! i think that u should be rewarded for renewing your membership or even use your tokens in a raffle that the prize offered could be a 1 membership! they say that people win 50 each day in the daily raffels wouldnt it be cheaper for pogo or ea games to offer a few memberships a day or a few a week month? i love having club pogo but now after a week of going cold turkey ive not once went to pogo and have not kiled anyone nor have i been commited to the mental hospital as i had thought i would if i didnt have pogo lol i find myself here on mylot alot more!

Lol I'm glad you didn't suffer a nervous breakdown :) I go on there quite a bit during the week, but not enough to justify 40.00 on it. I've been on that site since like 1999 or 2000, you'd think they'd offer something for the "loyal members". I've noticed that with a lot of other companies(cell phone companies in particular), no one offer's anything for loyalty or such, everyone's worried about bringing in the new people. That's a good idea you had with the raffle! Probably not cost effective for them lol. OH well, they just lost 2 members now it sounds, I'm sure a bunch will follow. I'm sure I"ll find other ways online to entertain myself lol, maybe start coming back here more :)

geez. in my opinion, if you continue to renew each year you should get to stay at the price that you paid when you started. i don't know if my husband would let me renew this year knowing that its that much. i do think its a bit out of control. especially since we'll pay that every year and most of us never win anything.

That'd be nice, if your chance of winning something other then wallpaper or screensavers was improved, then it'd be worth it, sorta lol. Oh well, I've adjusted :)

I was a club member from the time they started the club till last sept. when I had my phone line and isp turned off. Now that I'm back online, I don't really miss it. Just go to their free games and play. My fave that is a club exclusive I now have on cd so I can play it to my hearts content on my desktop whenever I want. Don't think I'll go back to the club either. That money I would spend on membership can pay a bill, buy food, etc etc.

So true! You know, I'd pay 20.00, that's fair, but 40.00 is just too much for me. It's been a few weeks now, I don't miss it :)

I noticed that Signal20, that when I went to go and get a Club Pogo membership that the price had gone up. I did pay for it at 39.99 but when it is time to renew next year if it is over 40 dollars it will be adios to me as well! They should consider themselves lucky that they got the 40 out of me lol!

You're right lol! Keep in mind too-they automatically withdraw the money when it's time to renew. They give you a lot of notice before hand, and they say they check 5-7 days before to verify the funds are there. So be sure to delete your account information when you get the first email that it's due. Otherwise, they'll take it out. I just went ahead and deleted mine so I wouldn't forget :)

I thought the only way they could renew it is if you had paid by credit card? I paid for my one year membership using my Paypal account!

They renew your account no matter what method you pay with unless you pay by mail, then they don't have an account to bill.

I joined Pogo Oct 2005. March 2006 was my first billing at $19.99. My subscription was up for renewal March 2007 - again, $19.99, which I paid via checking debit card. I am in my account right now and it says that my March 2008 price is $24.99. Where have you guys seen it was going up yet again?

My subscription expires the end of the month. They send you an email out about a month before hand and tell you what the price will be. Then I went into my account, and that showed what the price was. That's strange what you're price is! I joined, wow can't remember, been a member since '99 or '00, a Club Pogo member a few months after it came out. Maybe you came in on a special? Because those sound like the rates I started out with originally :) Well, enjoy it lol, because they'll keep going up.

They will definitly go up. I have been a member on and off since about 2002 and when I re-joined about a week ago I paid 39.99! If it does keep going up though then I won't be back next year.

I was also a club pogo member until about a year ago. Now I just go in and play the regular games, or sometimes they will send me a 2 week pass to play as a club member (trying to get me to join). I don't much care for badges and minis either. I just play the games I like.

I'll do the challenges every week, just because. But, the other stuff, I don't really care too much about. I think I"ll survive :)

OMG this is exactly why I will not do club pogo it is just to high and if I gotta pay I better be promised a win or something. I am so addicted to popping ballons and playing 21 That if they started charging for everything I would be in bed for a week eating bon bons and watchin sad movies. I just love pogo and I wish they would lower that fee.

I stopped being a pogo club memeber when the price went up to $25. Please, i don't need to spend that money so I can get some badges. and you'll get used to the intermissions and not having some of the games around. But my favorits are still available and it's free.

The intermissions will take some getting used to, but that's all right, dealt with it before :) I don't which games are on the free side and which are on the club side. I'll have to check. I'll find something worth playing I'm sure :)

I Feel the same way I been with them since it was free then they started Charging and now I think 40 bucks is outragous for the service since I have never won anything since Day one. So I may just tell them where to go when its time. There are Plenty of Free Games out there anymore.

The price hike alone would not have made me quit Club Pogo, but to tell the truth, I was getting a little tired of the badge competitions. At first I used to look forward to them, but then they started having so many of them, and adding all the special badges that they expected people to buy in addition to the ones that came with the membership. I really drew the line there. I also didn't like the new things for the minis that they wanted people to buy. If making money was Pogo's only object, I think they should have just turned some of the better games into skill games that you can play for money. I used to love the Skill Jam games, but when World Winner took them over, they got greedy and changed everything. Right now my favorite games are on King.com and I just hope they don't goof them up.

Yes, isn't that very sad? Why do companies have to get so greedy? I only had to pay 19.99 my first couple of years, then it went up, and I said ta heck with it. I can't justify paying 40 bucks for games, when I can get most of them for free.

They keep raising the prices because they have to pay the game designers to keep coming out with new games etc. They keep coming out with amazing things.. it's not cheap for them to keep the site going and keep it exciting. How ever.. here is some thing to think about... for $39.99... for 365 days you get to play all the games on club pogo, chat with people, have a message service between other pogo members, get minis, badges, etc etc... Do you know what the equals out to? 10 CENTS A Day.... only 10 cents. Many people spend more then that per cigeratte a day... think about that?..... For $40.00 you get a year of fun and games... You couldn't even go out to dinner, then a movie with popcorn and drinks... one time for $40.00. With money so tight right now in the world, people can't afford eating out, going to movies, going real life bowling..... so why not invest $40 so that you can go "bowling" online and do other fun games for a full year? My family and I love it. My husband and I both have club pogo accounts... we live in Ohio and his mom lives in Florida. Since money for travel is tight right now.. we bought her a club pogo account for Christmas one year.. and now we all play games together... it's a great way to keep in touch with her.. and keep her involved in actvities with us... it's like sitting down at the table to play euchre with her.. It's nice. To me, Club Pogo is worth the cost and anyone who thinks 10 cents a day is to much for all the fun it offers... well, so long then.

I just LEFT CLUB POGO. I've been a member for many many years. I have over 1300 badges, and I still have GEMS to use... but when I got the email saying they are raising the membership to $40.00, I GOT MAD! They are not loyal to us.... they only want our money, and more of it each year. I think it's downright ROBBERY...why would anyone give $40.00 to them and get nothing in return?? I loved the games, I loved the challenge... but I don't love being screwed over. :: shaking head :: I went in and deleted my account info.. I hope that will keep them from billing my Credit Card, but I'll keep an eye on my account and make sure I'm not billed by POGO ROBBERS.
