Five days ago I received as present a new camera from my husband, the sweet heart:) Obviously I was so eager to try it out and started making photos inside and outside our house, and even took a day off to go around with my car and visit nice places while taking pictures. Plenty of photos were taken and I uploaded some on Flickr. It is really hard to choose one among the many that were taken, but will share one with you here and would like to hear your thoughts. This is a photo of a necklace made by me with Tibetan jet beads and black tourmaline inlaid with Australian opal. I enjoy making jewelry so very much, and love especially opals, the queen's gem for me. Share your thoughts if you please

Its looks like a very nice neckless but I think it wold bee nice to see the whole neckless laying on something white just a thought.
It seams that You are very good of making jewelry is that a hobby or do you work with it?

Thanks for your reply :) And I have also a photo of the entire necklace, unfortunately I dont see a way to upload an other one here. You could see the other one on my Flickr account if you wish - tatyveli - And I started making jewelry as a hobby, and made some sales now and than, but it never became a full time job :).

That is a beautiful necklace. It looks like you are very talented. You will find a lot of artists on this site and we do like to share our images. I think opals are some of the prettiest gems, also.
You asked about recent photos: I've been taking pics of the road work being done on our highway. Kind of like being a sidewalk supervisor! I have a Minolta digital camera. Here is one of the construction work.

Thanks a lot for the compliment and am glad that you love opals and find them one of the most beautiful gems :) The new camera is Fuji FinePix S5700, and it really is a great one, with quality and for not that much. Once I feel I deserve a pro camera - I'd like a to have a Nikon D2Xs

Thank you ElusiveButterfly - I adore black and the same goes for opals, it gives just the small amount of shiny colors to the black stone, (be it onyx, or agate, or tourmaline) that makes the black even more black and the colors even more shiny :)
