Do you mind waiting for items you order online or through the mail?

I am very impatient when it comes to waiting for things. When I want something, I want it right now. That's one of the reasons I don't buy a lot of items online. But if I can't find something in the store and end up ordering it online, I am checking the mailbox every day to see if it came yet. I even start the next day when I know it is impossible for it to be here yet. I really dislike those things that say I have to wait 6 to 8 weeks. What about you? Are you a patient waiter?

I rarely purchased stuffs online. Most of online products I bought were books and software. Sometimes, I didn't find books on the book store. Thus, I had to buy them online. Software can be downloaded right away after paying it. Yes, I was often impatient to wait the items I ordered online. That's why if the item can be purchased at the store, I won't buy it online.

I like it when software can be downloaded immediately upon purchase. No waiting needed. That's my favorite.

DanaMark, you brought up a good point about the downloadable software. Often I like to purchase ebooks and software online and enjoy it right away. But, I totally don't mind buying other stuff online either. However, I do get impatient and assume it's been lost in transit if it doesn't arrive within a few days. Places like Ebay give me way more affordable options than those I could find in local shops. Once I found a perfectly good camcorder for $85 (shipping included) and it would have cost me the same amount for an AC electric cord to my other camcorder. So, I ended up getting a new camcorder! Very happy about that purchase. I was so afraid it was some kind of scam and checked my front porch daily to see if it had arrived and when it did, I almost did a cartwheel in the livingroom!

I am like you in not wanting to wait, especially for something I have already paid for. sadly this town has very little options other than a walmart and a couple pawnshops I think there is a radio shack, the surrounding towns have even less. I do order a lot of free samples online, but do not keep a list of the items I am waiting for, so I often forget about them...then when they arrive several weeks later I am happily surprised.

I get really impatient too. I'll check the mail just to be sure even though I know it can't possibly be there yet. In fact, I've sometimes paid insane prices in order to get upgraded shipping on things because I couldn't wait to have them! Since most of the time I can't afford to do that, I'm just stuck with the waiting game. If I could, I would buy everything locally so I didn't have to worry about it. However, since I live kind of in the middle of nowhere, that's impossible for me. There is really nowhere to shop here, so I often wind up buying things online.

I've also paid extra for faster shipping sometimes. It is just so hard to wait.

I am also impatient, but I check for a couple of days then I kind of forget about it and it makes for a nice surprise when it comes in. =)

i'm very impatient too! the minimum duration i'm willing to wait is a week, else i'll get worried that the item got lost in the mail or something. i don't buy things online that often as well, only sometimes. when i do, i feel quite satisfied after i've made my payment, just that the waiting period for the items to arrive makes me anxious!

It really depends on what Im getting y'know? When I ordered my laptop They said it would take 5-8 days to get to me, I was so bummed because I wanted it RIGHT then and there! But I knew that I had specially ordered it, and it had to be made first so I waited.... and waited, and WAITED! It took like 11 days to get to me, and let me tell you I woke up early every morning since day 5 and I was miserable, but when I finally got it, all the waiting didn't matter anymore. But if I am ordering someone to resell I usually forget about it till a dy or two after it gets here... Or if it's an automated thing like when you are subscribed to a magazine, I don't anticipate stuff like that

You have clearly stated why I do not order much on-line. I can be impatient when feel excited about a purchase and if I had to wait 6 to 8 weeks for something the wind would go out of my sails and I'd probably ask myself why I bothered. I agree with your shopping style...I like to decide...find it..buy it...enjoy it. On-line purchases would be a last resort choice for me.
