I guess so many people recieve spam mails to their inbox. What do you do when you see spam mails in your inbox? Do you delete them instantly? Do you mark them as spam?? Do you read them before deleting? Do you negelct them and keep them in inbox itself???? I am getting so many spam mails to my yahoo and rediffmail accounts but very less in gmail.I really surprised by yahoo spam mails becoz i get more than four per day.First i was reading them and were interesting....afterwards they become very boring.. Now i am marking them as spam and blocking their addresses? What to do?Any idea?

I read some mails if the subject catches my interest, if not i'll mark it spam so that i wont receive it again. And to avoid spam mails try not to put your email address on subscriptions on not so important sites.

Any mails which get into my inbox and is not familar, I do not even open it. It is deleted directly. As for the mails in the spam folder, it is trashed immediately when I saw that the folder is not empty. Too bad if any legitimate mails get into that folder.

No, I don't want to read them because they are no use for me at all except for wasting my time. You know, time is money. So I can't afford my time on reading such kind of rubbish.

Nah I don't read the spam, most of my spam goes into the bulk folder automatically and I just delete it when it starts accumulating. A lot of spam does manage to creep it's way into my inbox, and I just mark it as spam so it'll land on the bulk folder next time. I also get tons of spam to my Yahoo account and don't really know what to do about it. At one point I started only accepting emails from those in my address book but notifications from eBay or myLot and websites of interest were lost so I went back to normal. Not sure if there's anything we can do about spam, unfortunately.

Reply back with a little spam of your own. I do that sometimes. The rest of the time I just delete them and move on.

Never do that! If you do that you are confirming your email add. They will know that your email is real and then they will keep it on a list. They usually sell the list to other spammers. You will receive even more junk emails. Just delete them.

Very rarely, I found that nowadays there are many spam e-mails like I have this, this amount in my bank and I want to transfer them to someone's a/c like stuffs.Once it came in my mails and not spam and I was surprised, I took it seriously, but when I opened my spam mails once I came to know that this is a kind of trend going on ,on net and now I neglect them.

Dear mymytri, I get lot of spam mails. I read them. In case I find them informative, I make a copy of it and paste it on my "information book". If I found them useless, I just delete them. By virtue of experience I know certain mails are totally spam. Without reading them I delete.

I usually go into my junk mail folder and see if there is accidentally something important goes into that folder as well. But I don't really read the spam emails. Sometimes I find them funny just by looking at their titles and I am sure everytime I am quite amused by those weird people sending off things like that. I don't specially do anything with the spam emails, I would just delete them and clean out the folder everytime I am in the junk folder. I guess I am just tired of looking at them sitting in my mail box.

I never read any spam mails but before deleting I go through if accidentally any useful mail is marked as spam. It happens some time. After checking I just delete all of them. I use gmail as primary account and it has a good spam protection. It judges very clearly what is spam or not. I like gmail for this feature also.

I get tons in my Yahoo account too. It's ridiculous! I'm glad almost all of it goes to the Spam folder. I used to read some of them, but then I figured out it was mostly crap:P I've noticed that I don't get nearly as much Spam mail with Gmail.

I am receiving a lot of spam mails in my inbox. I read some of them first, mark as spam, then delete. It's no use when you read them all i think.

Usually I just ignore them and I let gmail take care of the mess. When I played The Sims 2 I used to use the names of the spammers. It was fun. But after a while I got bored again, so I just delete them. Gmail is great dealing with spam. You don't have to worry about anything. It will recognize the spam and send it to a spam folder. After 30 days the emails are deleted.

I use a product called Mailwasher. Although it's very flexible I've got it set so that it deletes all mail except from adresses that I've specified. It also sends an 'undeliverable' email back to the sender. I'm uner no illusions that that deters the spammers but if a friend or a colleague sends me an email from a new address that I'm not aware of they'll know I haven't received it. (No I don't work for Mailwasher or earn commission selling it!)

I have this kinda experience.Well i have downloaded one free software which is popular for spam protection and it deleted all the emails other than my contacts.I found that after one week so stopped using that.I have missed so many mails at that time.:(

Yes I too receieve a lot of spam mails. A veriety of them. As you said I also used to read them in the beginning, but now I instentaniously delete them. I clear my spam folder regularly. Spam mails are recieved both in my gmail and yahoo IDs. I think instant deletion is the easyest way to deal with spams. Thank you.

If it was not for reading my spam email I would not have any of my mylot email. I would not answer any of your discussions. For some reasons I am getting all my mylot emails in my spam box now. I have mylot on my address box but I am not getting them except into my spam box. LOL
