Do you wonder what the difference is? Are you looking for something that defines your beliefs or wondering how someone can be so blind as to deny God? This guy;
http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/mathew/intro.html
does a good job of separating the three concepts and defining the position of people who hold these positions.
Before you try to debate an Atheist understand where he is coming from.
A good place to find informed debate about these subjects is the new fourm at;

I liked the article a lot and its done up real well. It gavwe me a new point of view to explain my existing non-belief in God. Yes I do agree we tend to prove and disprove God's existence.
I have always marvelled at the mind of the firt person who had the idea of God. Incfact if yoe see this idea that God exists had created a civilised society out of the wild beast man was initially and it has evolved and has been passed down from centuries from one generation to another. It kept crime under check without actually the need of policing in the past. I mean when man was evolving the civic culture. Now its backlashing by increased numbers of killings in the name of religion-so we do need something to counter this too may be thats what atheism is doing.

...populations are exploding, and resources will be going down.. the (hidden) human psyche of some is saying, surely some will have to be eliminated, and the religious, especially christians, who kill few infidels(!) but seek to stand in the way of the freedom and joy of utter lawlessness, will be at the top of the list. ThiS is the trend getting under way. (Mark my words. I.E. remember them later!:)blessings**

That was interesting! Thanks! I like his concluding statement "aLL beliefs should be open to questions". But I do notice that in his digging, the books he recommends are all of the "support of atheism type". [Or perhaps those are to show us more clearly what atheism is to the atheist.]
- I also very much like his use of the word "belief" and "believe" - as opposed to "facts" and "proofs" which much atheism seems to prefer to use.
- Even a freethinker can reach a conclusion surely?:) Then what? And of course a "freethinker" is really only someone who thinks just like me! Hence the support is the "freedom from religion" foundation, and not a "freedom from atheism" foundation. Like 'scientific' atheism isn't taught just like any other theory or belief is taught! But spontaneously comes to every mind in modern man's highly evolved state.
- "Detectable interaction" - that's the whole thing! Theists can see it. A-theists can't! I see it everywhere. It's the main "substance" and element of life! The one most observable. I daresay God is as detectable by Christians, and others, today, as He was by the ancient Hebrews as recorded.
- I do like his point "things are not true, just because someone says so". Of course it pertains to atheism and any theories of life, as well as it pertains to chrisitanity! Surely?
- (As to his first word game, however, which is what the rest of it was, to me, and I don't mean to belittle his thought processes) atheism may not be coined by some as a "religious" belief, but it is still a "belief"! Arguing about the word "religious" (as though the word belief is only used in conjunction with "religious") is actually quite moot.
- Also different human behaviors of those believing a concept is not all that important, as to the worth of the concept! As I think all would agree that human nature is flawed, and can be, veRy flawed.
