Familiarity can breed contempt. When we first meet someone we put on what I call our 'honeymoon face'. We show that person our best side. Our bad habits are kept well hidden. It is only with familiarity that our bad habits start to become apparent and it is the other persons reaction to these bad habits that can cause contempt. Our bad habits will always come out, we can't hide them forever, and some people will dislike us because of them. Some people, however, will like us despite our bad habits and that is why we can have good friendships with some people and not with others. Do you agree? I would like to hear from you.
