Jordan got the groove in the second half, while Team Pilipinas, who waxed hot in the first half, had gone ice-cold in the end as the All-Star line-up from the Philippine Basketball Association waved its Olympic hopes goodbye as they lost a win-or-go-home match against Jordan, 84-76 earlier in the 2007 FIBA-Asia Championships in Tokushima. American-Jordanian Rasheim Wright was bullied by the RP defense, but sizzled after the half en route to 24 points, while Zaid Alkhas started the Jordanian push in the second quarter with 16. The Talk 'n Text tag team of Asi Taulava and Jimmy Alapag were the bright spots of Team Pilipinas with 14 and 10 respectively. RP Team coach Chot Reyes quoted after the game that it's better to bounce back from a deficit than go ahead early. Protecting an early lead has become RP's problems eversince the Jones Cup. Team Pilipinas will now just wish that they will host the "Wild Card Qualifiers" to get an automatic berth.

Goodbye team Pilipinas! Its sad to say but what i can say about our team is.. They are the worst team that participated in FIBA Asia. In contrast, they are the BEST team in terms of financial status combined. I should thank the PBA in anyway, they have lent us their jewels pro bono. Maybe i have the right to opined in here, so. I am not satisfied with the performance of team Pilipinas coaches. The lackluster performance of the coaches from Bushan Asiad have been evened by coaching staff in Tokushima. They are not familiar with the FIBA rules, why? in Bushan, South Korea was trailed by 2 points with 23 secs left and Olsen Racela have still 2 free throws to give. Nobody from the coaching staff called a timeout to refresh Olsen or at least minimized the pressure from him. And, with 23 tics left they were not yet in the penalty and have 2 more fouls to give. Imagine? up by 2 points with 23 secs left and 2 free throws and have still fouls to give? still we lost to South Korea. Again between the Iran games, nobody from the coaching staff pacified the bench which caused technical fouls. It could be the turning point for team Philippines. Our coaches are out their mind during games i say.
