What is up about all these "SHARK" programs on the Discovery channel?

Shark week!!!! My husband is obsessed with sharks, so he's very excited about it. We watched several shark programs last night, they are such interesting creatures! There are so many different types, and each of them has their own special talents! =) Um, yes, the other thing to realize about sharks is that while they play up the whole "shark attack" thing, the actual number of shark attacks worldwide each year is very small. Typically there are less than one hundred such attacks each year worldwide, and often it's less than 50. So you have a much greater chance of dying or being injured in many other ways than being a victim of a shark attack!

Darn it! I keep forgetting it's on now! Thanks so much for unintentionally reminding me! =D And don't worry about it, more people are hit by lightning than bitten by sharks. And as long as your not gushing blood while bobbing in the middle of the ocean or if your not bleeding, as long as the sharks have a good food supply, you'll be perfectly fine. Also if your not a surfer, that decreases risks as well, the surfboard is shaped like sharky's fave food source: a seal!
