Months ago I answered a post where I was asked was there a current actor that could play Jimmy Stewart parts. At the time I didn't really have an answer. But I think I fould him. It is Kyle Secor. He is tall and lanky and has a boyish face.I can't remember who started the original post. so if you are out there, please respond to this post. Thanks.

Oh, I love Kyle Secor! He did such a great job in "Homicide: Life on the Street"! It took a special actor to play opposite Andre Braugher's intense, mercurial Pembleton character, Kyle did it perfectly! I was sorry when "Commander in Chief" was cancelled, he did an excellent job opposite Geena Davis. I think he could do JS' parts very well, too. I've heard people say that Tom Hanks is a modern JS, that's not a bad comparison, either.

There is only one thing wrong with Tom Cruise. He is a little too short.

I reckon Tom Hanks is a modern day version of Jimmy Stewart, he’s instantly likable, can play a whole bunch of roles from humorous to strong powerful characters and sort of has than innocence and charm about him which was such a big part of Jimmy Stewarts persona. Funnily Steven Spielberg had plans to remake “Harvey” and wanted Tom Hanks to star, he turned it down.
