I get those all the time in my box, I actually almost fell for it a few years back.. Thinking ok I'd help him until my husband told me no it was a scam.. Thank goodness he was sitting there at the time or I would of been scammed for sure.. But these e-mails are getting out of hand that's for sure.. It makes me wonder though where they are getting our e-mail address from to send this stuff...

If you have time and want to have some fun, try to bait them. There is a site 419eater.com that will help you to do that. You just create a new email account and when you get one of those scam mails you answer it pretending to be interested. The scammer will lose time answering you and someone will not be scammed.

I've heard of various Afican bank emails, the detils may change a bit but it's always the same. You do money laundering for them and get a percentage of the money. This web site ~ http://www.snopes.com/ ~ is an archive of current and old scams and urban legends.

Nigerian scams are very obvious, I pretty much don't trust anything that mentions Nigeria anywhere in an email. I remember when I was trying to sell my cellphone via craigslist and eBay, I would get emails and messages from people wanting to deal outside of the websites and wanting to give me double the money if I sent the product to Nigeria. I never did, I looked into it and surely - a scam. The spam emails that sometimes trick me into opening them are these I'm getting lately...they say they're an ecard or epostcard and when I open the mail, it's just mumble-jumbo spam. So annoying.

i get those all the time. at times i answer back for the fun of it. i pretend to be interested, then they will answer back giving details how it should be done. after 3 emails i will cut them short and tell them it's a scam and tell them if they need money all they have to do is ask i might consider giving it to them rather than fooling people. after that the just stop.

The better way to deal with them is do not reply and do not give your personal information. If you want to play a little and answer them, use another email, not your personal one. Don't tell them you know it is a scam. They will just delete your email and begin another scam with another person. Go to www.419eater.com so you will know what to do.

I have always used a little of my brain and had deleted it outright!! I had received the Nigeria brother scam spam and now i donot trust the word NIGERIA when it comes to e-mails. The spammers are getting stupid now with lack of ideas. they should resort to some real deadly ones..lol..

Ahh yes the Nigerian spam! It is a very old scam that I believe many of us are aware of and it always includes a high amount of money to motivate the person to fall for it. Though it is very common but I know that there are still many people out there that unfortunately fall for these and end up sending the money only to realize later that their hard earned money has gone down the drain. Apparently there are many scams related to this including Lotto's, Powerballs just to name a few. The best thing to do is junk/spam and delete them because sometimes they are also known to carry viruses such as a key logger to steal the users personal and private data.

I got that one too. I learned a long time ago not to trust anything that supposedly from Nigera. I once even worked for a doctor who got a letter in the mail trying to scam him out of money. Any time a person gets something like that they should immediately hit delete!

One of the most old scams still circulating around !!! Strange that how still some scammers like these believe that they can make some fortune with such scams. Such Nigerians scams are very popular among the internet users and so I believe no one else will fall prey for such scams here after.

You can forget about that email 'coz it is a scammer job. I've been receiving that such email quite numbers per month. You surely being asked for your personal details for reply(PLEASE DO'NT). So you just ask them for their details and play a bit tricky with them and see what they reply to you OR just ignore the message by "DELETE".
