Does anyone have any advice to someone who really loves cats, but has a bad allergy to them? My wife loves cats, but she can't be around one for more than a couple days w/o getting extremely sick. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

matter of fact i do,i just purchased my first cat.he is 10 weeks old and he is a seal lynx point highlander cat.these cats are basically like a dog.they fetch, sit, beg, roll over, love water, great with kids, and the best part about them is if anyone has cat allergies these cats will not bother them.they dont shed and their fur is like a tiger its pelted fur.i have quite a few people that are severly allergic to cats, and when they come over they are not bothered at all by my new cat.these cats get up to 35 to 40 pounds male and about 15 to 20 for female.i posted a few discussions on them you can check them out, also i have pictures one of my little guy and one of his brother.these are really neat cats

Hello laurensgirl, I have a few suggestions, first and for most you are allergic to the "dander" on a cat, if you shave your cat and then scratch the skin you get white somewhat flaky stuff on the cat, that is the dander. OK, the vet offices carry a liquid , I think it is called "alleric" or something close to that, it says to wash or rub into cat fur with it once a week along with bedding and anywhere else the cat goes. second option, get a HAIRLESS cat, they have NO dander (they look kinda funny, BUT hey, no allergies) third option, talk with your doctor, I know they give monthly shots for allergies to cats, when you figure out what you are going to do, and you go to choose your cat, MAKE SURE it is a SHORT hair cat or choose the hairless cat. If I think of anything else I will add it on later, good luck Diss......

Allergies can be a symptom for low immunity level, so one way you could try is to get a better immunity. You need antioxidants and good cold pressed oils to protect your cells and right bacteria in your stomach. www.gnld.com has taught me a lot about how to get better immunity and you can check the scientists behind the products, they know what they are talking about. I suggest you go to their information meetings - you find more info in my profile too and a great movie you can watch.
