A huge number of students go to America for further study each year.I got to know America is a great place for academy as well as businesses. And students from all over the world apply for offers will promise to got a PHD degree before be there. But 5 years or more for a PHD is not quite a short period of time in our lives. Some students may give up furher study while have got their Master degree after 2years study.Their behaivor of breaking up their own promise is not a virue. How do you think about it?

If you really want to persue your studies you should go for it. If you feel that you can really contribute something to improve the world and state affairs by studying then if you have that opportunity you should do uit. But I don't like it when people waste their time studying and studying and not giving anything back to Society but only taking and keeping a lot of useless knowledge for themselves. That I find annoying lol.

No, I never gave up on my study. I spent years in getting my degrees and I'm glad that I was finally able to complete my degrees. In US, you'll be able to take a short vacation (it is usually one or two semesters) for a personal reason. Perhaps, you may want to emphasize on your career first instead of your study. Then, you'll be able to come back to continue your remaining courses. I don't know if Universities in China have a such thing.
