I found that everybody inhere prefers using their 'nickname' rather than using the given name. What makes you proud to have your 'nickname' better than your "given name"?

michaeldadona, I've never thought of it as not being proud of my given name. My real name is Ramona which is not a common or easy to remember name here in the USA. I was born in the Dominican Republic where my given name is very common. My very best friend whom I lost to cancer 2 years ago gave me this name in fun and well, it stuck. Soon everyone I new started calling me Romie. Only my closest friends use it which are not many, lol, and that's the story of my nickname...

Wow!!! for the first time a response I've posted to comments on my lot my comments where not accepted and I had to change them. In the above comments I speak of loosing my best friend to a ------ type of cancer never thinking it was improper. this blank is referring to an anotomy that women have 2 of above their waist. I can understand the simplicity of this rule but,,, I never thought that word would be offencive in nature as it obviouly is with my lot. I pride my self on been of good nature and well... enough said I guess..

Yes, sure, I am very much satisfied with my name. My nickname is also very nice one. I like them because they have a good meaning, which suits my personality also. My real name means as calm as ocean. My personality is also similar to this. As calm as ocean and as voilent as ocean (when required). Heart full of desires and ready to accept each and every situation in life.

Hello my friend, thanks for sincere greetings and hopes. I admire for your nice nick name as it means; VASH (vas) vessel or duct STAMPEDE a sudden rapid movement or reaction. But what does it mean for the numeric 99200? Anyway thanks for your responding to my discussion.

Hi Shadaab491987; a great response. thank you very much. But what ponders me is about too many figures after your nickname. What does it mean? 491987? Kindest regards, michael.

Haha,I have a good given name, unlike your country,China prefers calling given name than nickname,I don't know why, maybe it's just a custom, but it's more nice to call the given name cause other people would consider that you are more friendly...
