dhoni or karthik in odis ??who is better

I prefer Karthik as the wicket-keeper. Dhoni should qualify as a pure batsman. I love to see Dhoni coming in at No. 3 position. He has the ability to attack or graft. We had seen this many times. No. 3 is the position that gave him international recognition in the Indian A team. Why not do that again? Give the gloves to Karthik and No. 3 slot to Dhoni. Thanks.

Actually there is no doubt in the fact that Karthik is better wicket keeper than Dhoni. But dhoni's batting style is more suitable to ODI's.

well i think dhoni is good on a given day but karthik is much more consitent and also his keeping is better than dhoni if you do a deep analysis. he is also technically sound and will make good score but yes dhoni should be nurtured so that he can do well in one days cause his style is something which is really needed

Its kind of a difficult decision. both players are brilliant in their own accord. Dhoni not a very good keeper,explosive batsman but needs to be more consistant. Karthik is a brilliant middle order batsman, good keeping skills. if we see the pros and cons of each player the scales are heavily on favour of Karthik. But i like the present arrangement though. Dhoni as the WK and Karthik as a batsman (also substitute WK)

WWhy not both. karthik has proved to be an ok sort of fielder. and when the big three retire india will need some stability in the middle order which he can provide

hello, binny! dhoni or kartik?both are young and capable of big shots and at the back of the stumps too.but dhoni will have an edge over kartik because dhoni has proved himself the trump card of the team for his great attacking style.of course,i like to see both of them in the team,be it one day or test match.all the best.

I think it has to be Dhoni becuase Dhoni is a very classy player and he has all the ingredients to become a very great player.

alighting there are two men discussions regarding thison this side and also in the media and I don't think there is any reason for him to retire from international cricket because he is right now and a very good form and I think he can easily continue for a another year or so. Most important thing is who are we to judge such a great player we all know he's a great player and I think he is the best person to judge whether he should retire or not he will definitely be the time when he will retire and that they will definitely miss one of the greatest player not only from the Indian chamber from the international cricketing world. I hope that they does not come to early but then he has detain us for a more than the more than a decade almost 18 years this is quite a lot and I think he can continue it deserves it there is no need for him to make room for the youngsters because such players do not come and go there one in a million player and they should be given chance. Actually not given chance but the desertions.

I feel that kartik is more better than dhoni because dhoni's wicket keeping skills are bad these days but his batting abilities are good but considering that we need to have a good keeper to suceed in matches we need a better keeper. I would vote for dhoni if he had improved his wicket keeping skills even more.

I feel kartik is much more balanced and technically sound batsman compared to dhoni. Overnight stars like dhoni should work much harder to keep their momentum going. Dhoni is like a commercial movie, only useful for entertaining people without any story! But kartik can turn into a wonderful batsman like sachin in future as he also has good technique like sachin. This is my personal opinion.

both are great players when compare to dhoni and karthick for one day matches i like dhoni. but for consitency playing karthick plays great. dhoni hits will br strong, karthick plays a geninue game.

well, both are well, because when we need big score we need dhoni. but other side of wicket we need solid batsman, who can stick on pitch. like karhik. no need to run big score with 4's and 6's but give support to other who going to hit 4's and 6's. when dhoni is hard hitter. when we need big score, we required dhoni. so both are required in team.

according to me dhoni gets the nod but only just..as he more attacking...our team needs this kind of a player to boost our score in the slog overs..but Kartik is also a very good player...and i see him as a future captain...with dhoni being vice captain ;)

it is one of the most tuffest and difficult decision and suggestion to igve because both the players good keepers and good batsmen.both the players are required for our team.here we have to think one importrant thing that in the final overs for hitting afraiding the bowlers with the punching shorts dhoni type of batsmen is needed to our team and in the intial overs for standard batting kartihk type of batsmen is neede.so the players are important in different situations . in my openion both players must be in the team . i had decided thing by two main and primary reasons that.in my openion the player dhoni have take his job keeper and the player karthik have to do the job of an opening batsmen.hare we have to remember one thing that karthik is a young charming batsmen such type of players are needed to our team for the futuere because there are three senior players are ready to retire in this situation our team need the young new players ti fill thie position and karthik is little bit experianced player.he is not only a dynamic player of batsmen but also e is an eccelent fielder. he has beeen succeeded as a field in th previous matches he has played.and we will have one doubt in this situations that he may be an extra player . but we have to remember that dravid is not only a batsmen he is a fielder also but still we have dravid as a main batsmen in the team and he had become a captain to the eam also.so by taking all the above things into consideration we will say that both the players are needed to our team.in the different situations there will be a chance to use their capabulities . if by badluck if dhoni is unable to play in that situations karthik will do his job as a keeper and by that he will be in the form because he is regular player to our team . so this will be a benefecial thing to our team to have both the players in our team in my penion.

Dhoni is far far better than karthick.He is now the captain of the team and has leadershipping qualities.He supports his team members very well.He experiments his resources very well.His batting average is good after taking captaincy.DHONI matured really well as a batsmen.KARTHICK is a good fielder and a decent batsmen.But he is outsìned by Dhoni.

i go for dhoni in subcontinent for odi's..... karthik has good batting technique....but he cannot face super fast bolers like lee or aktar....he gets beated by pace..... karthik is good for test matches........ parthiv patel has grown good as well....he can play in bouncy australian tracks as well....and also he has been performing consitantly in ranji matches... at present am happy with dhoni....since he is capable of guiding this young indian side....the plus point with dhoni is the good leadership qualities he posses....

dhoni needs to be consistent

comparatively dhoni is better choice for ODI. From Batting style point of view dhoni is not as good as like karthik but has self confidence and Mentally very strong that is what india is requiring now. Sometimes he is doing mistake while batting but the responsibility of captainship may rectify him very soon. He also need to make some improvement in his batting style.

I think Dhoni is better as he has good cricketing knowledge than and as a captain he is applying those knowledge perfectly. But surely the batting form does matter. But as per the records he more consistent than Kartik. And his wicket keeping capability is quite good if it is not excellent.
