Describe your dream house, nothing is impossible. If you had all the money you needed and nothing to hold you back from having exactly what you wanted, what would it be like?

Hi Stacyv, My dream house would be in the middle of nowhere right along side of a river deep in the woods. It would be fully self reliant, meaning that it would be solar and wind powered, it would get its water from a well and all my tv and internet would be supplied from a satalite dish. The house itself would be 4 bedrooms with two baths and a big garage/shop. Thats all that comes to mind now. Take care, Terry

Well, I want it to be a mansion with lots of rooms and bathrooms. I want it to be so big that I would get lost trying to find the kitchen or something.

Hmmm...I guess my dream house would be pretty big. It would have a huge master bedroom with walk in closets and a big bathroom. It would have french doors that opened out to the patio, where you could see our big back yard. It would also have 4 other bedrooms, because we are thinking we want 3 kids, and we need a guest room since we live so far from our families. I would want at least two bathrooms besides the one in the master bedroom. I would want a big kitchen with lots of cabinet space and room for a small table and chairs. I want a big walk in pantry like the one I have now. I would also want a dining room. The living room would be big and have a fire place. There would be an office with enough space for all three computer desks plus our filing cabinets and bookcase. A basement would also be a must, so we would have a place to store things. I want a big wraparound porch out front. And an oversized three car garage so we would have room to park our car and truck and my husband would still have room for all of his tools.

Hi stacyv81! I would want a house that is 2 storey high with a big garden with so many flowering plants and vegetables too. The exterior walls will be of red bricks, the interior of the house will be of classic design with a twist, stremlined, simple, laid-back with a degree of sophistication. Interior walls will be washed in camel, sage green hue so that the decors and accessories in my home will stand out. The main door opens to the foyer which is doubled in size by a floor-to-ceiling mirror on one wall. The living area will be a realxing sea of oatmeal, camel and khaki colors punctuated with accents of dark wood. The kitchen walls will be in deep orange. Oh, I haven't thought about the other rooms yet but I sure want to have a home that exudes warmth. I hope I will have this someday! Have a nice day!

...my dream house would be to just live under the trees.. thick trees.. each person or family having their own tree or trees, and fruit trees.. This of course is my reaL dream house, and of course as it's a dream, the weather would be perfect too.. (which I do however believe it will be after our Lord returns//sorry non christians, I don't mean to speak hate speech, or, this is not hate speech! No offense or any sort of pressure implied.). - But to build my dream house now... a small cabin with a big stone fireplace.. (you guessed it, in the middle of the woods). :)

My dream house would definitely be a detached house, four or five rooms for the family and friends to stay. It would have a red room for me, as I love red. It would have a big office full of all the latest technological gadgetry. A games room with arcade games. A big conservatory with a swimming pool, heated off course, and which could be both indoor and outdoor. A beautiful garden with a big pond, full of fish and frogs. A massive kitchen oh and someone who loves cooking living there to cook me meals as I'm hopeless at cooking. Oh we can dream...

Okay..I want a house that is energy efficient. I would like 3-4 bedrooms. The master bedroom would be a suite -with a master bath and a small sitting area and it would be separated from the other bedrooms and living areas. A private porch or deck off of it would be nice but not required. Their would have to be a separate full bath by the other bedrooms. A 1/2 bath off of the living areas. The garage would be connected to a mudroom, which would contain a bathroom with a shower and plenty of storage and a washer and dryer. In other words, people could come into the garage, leave their outdoor clothing and shoes or boots and shower if they need. This would leave all of the mess and the clutter in the mudroom. The kitchen would have a huge pantry and plenty of cabinets, there would be enough room for at least 3 people to work in at the same time, it would also have a nice breakfast nook. A quality stove...like a Jenn-aire range would be nice. there would need to be at least 2 maybe 3 fireplaces, living room, family room and maybe the master bedroom. It would need a huge front porch. Also a screened in porch. It would need deciduous trees, so it gets shade in the summer and sunlight in the winter. It would have a central vacuum, AC, ceiling fans, it would be wired completely for cable and phones, etc. I would want it set up for the future, so it could be completely controlled remotely via computer. I would like a big room of my own, set up with storage and desks etc. The garage would have to have room for 3 cars and a separate area for tools and outdoor equipment. Outside - a pond would be nice, and an outdoor fireplace (oops make that 4 fireplaces), an outdoor cooking area would be good. Did I mention my dream house should come with a cleaning woman?

Earth Ship - Self-contained, completely environment friendly
My dream house isn't too extravagant, and I think it's very likely we'll build it within the next five years. It's an "Earth Ship" which is a more or less self-sustained, environment friendly, off-grid home. There are quite a few styles of them, but I happen to like the style called the castle best. It's 2 stories, ours would need to have 4 bedrooms. The front is a green house, as the plants growing is part of the heating & cooling system and the waste water treatment. They're primarily made from recycled tires packed with earth and glass bottles. With some modifications they can be built for any climate, ours will likely be in Southern Maine. And best of all, they're a fraction of the cost of building a traditional home of comparable size.

My dream house would be on the seafront with a large garden behind! There would be at least 5 bedrooms with a study and a library seperate! My kids would be able to play and have room for friends to come and stay over - a really busy family home that was full of love, bustle and laughter! xxxx

My dream house, stacy, would be a nice little two-bedroom cottage situated off the beaten path with a large kitchen for doing a lot of cooking; a library for all my books and computer equipment; and maybe an exercise room because I never seem to get around to exercising like I should. I would need two bathrooms and front and back porches with lots of flowers and trees. Maybe a small fish pond on the property also.
