do people really believe that the celebrities look that good in real life?

I have met guys that actually believe that the celebrity women in the magazines look like that in real life. Wake up! They are air brushed to the max. No body except Barbie looks that good!

They are just like you and me..I don't know why people think that they are flawless....The air brush does wonders...

I agree. It's just sad that young girls try to be look like something that doesn't exist in real life.

Yes, and everyone is so thin..That can't be healthy either. This is why so many young girls have so little self-esteem..It makes me sad...

They absolutely don't look as good as they do on TV or magazines. Did you see where Redbook took Faith Hill - a beautiful 39 year old singer/mom - and airbrushed all her fine lines and slimmed out her already slim arm? There is a new website (of course I forgot the name of it) that exposes magazines by showing before and after pics from photo shoots. It's eye opening. These women (and men) are not perfect and shouldn't be. I think this perception of perfection is making ordinary people - teens and adults - very self conscious and like they need to look perfect or they won't be accepted. I think magazines should show the real celebs, flaws and all. We all age and we all have things we want to airbrush. But that's what makes up unique! I am almost 43. I see every little line on my face and, when I look at a flawless pic of an older celeb, I feel awful. Like I am aging before my eyes and they are staying perfect. Of course surgery and Botox as well as airbrushing is the reason by my brain just sees a beautiful woman my age with no flaws. It's got to be the same for teens and young adults to see these perfect waifs walking around and to feel they just don't live up to those standards.

I too wish the magazines would take the photos and leave them as they are. Jamie Lee Curtis had a photo shoot done a while ago and she showed all her flaws, because she wanted to show young women (and older too) that celebrity women are not as perfect as they appear to be. Good on her!! Also, a magazine had a bunch of celebrity women pose for a "natural" photo shoot. They were not wearing make-up but they were still air brushed!! Do these magazines think we are stupid??!!

Celebrities, they are just common people in real life. Most of them will encounter various daily issues which we also have face to,such as earning money, communicating with old friends, sending E-mails and so on.They are just famous in certain fields and for us,we are famous in our jobs and life!

I don't believe they look that good in real life, women or men. Many of them are attractive people but not as attractive they appear in magazines, movies or on tv. The women and men wear a lot of make-up and bronzer with the make-up enhancing their good features and hiding their bad ones when they are in movies and on tv. As you said it is even worse in print with all the air brushing. The men shave their chests and wear bronzer and make-up to make their muscles look more defined.
