Imagine that you're walking down the street and suddenly you see a portfolio or a bag...you draw nearer and find out that it's full of money. Also, it has some kind of information that permits you to identify the owner of the money. What would you do? would you return it? would you keep it to yourself? how do you feel about that?

If there was i.d in it i would try and locate the owner, maybe not too hard though lol. However if there wasn't any name and adress in it then i would definately keep it, coz if you handed it in somebody else would.

I would exhaust the options I have. First, i will try to find the owner of the money. However, the Civil Code of the Philippines states therein that in cases of lost movable things or property, such must be surrendered to a person n authority, mayor for instance. Then, the mayor shall post the matter as a public notice. If after 6 months and no one claims it, the finder has the right to claim it, the expenses for the publication shall be deducted. Am I too honest or not? hehehe

Money money everywhere... - Money money everywhere. We should value money, it rarely knocks your door, or taps your feet...
If there's some information about the owner of that property, or i find some important documents along with the money, then I would just courier him those documents, not the money. Man, its too hard to earn money today, so i will better keep it with myself. These kinda things don't happen everyday, and lastly, we should value money not the owner of the money!! And its not everyday that money knocks your door, or taps your feet, is it???

OK - well - my answer to this is simply - it depends who the owner is!!! If the owner was an individual, then I would definately trace them and return it. After all, - they may need it as much as I do, and I would feel guilty and couldn't live with myself if I took it away from them. However - if the "owner" of the money was a Bank or Building Society, or some huge company conglomerate, then I would keep it. With large companes like that, you know that no one personally will siuffer, and they will be able to claim their loss back through Insurance, so no living person is upset ot harmed in anyway! And i could do with the money - LOL!!

I know that I would be very tempted honey - espescially since things are tight here financially BUT I could not live with the guilt if I did try to keep it - even if there was no personal information I would still hand it in to the police! xxxx

I would give it back to its owner without even a second thought. If it so happened to be no way to identify who it belonged to I would still make some kind of effort to find its owner. I believe in karma.... what goes around comes around. I can't and wouldn't judge anyone else in this position, but I know what I would do.

Well, since there are identifications then there is only one thing to do, which is to return the money. However, when there are no identifications whatsoever, then the dilemma comes in. I could always keep it for myself but then knowing me, I would probably be bugged by my conscience. So the answer is still to return the money, albeit with a little hassle involved in identifying the owner.

If somebody is stupid enough to leave their bag full of cash somewhere then it serves them right to lose it. If i left a bag full of cash somewhere, i would expect it to be gone. I would not be that stupid to leave it on the street. Who apart from criminals walk around the streets with a bag full of cash? I would definately take it, i may hold on to it and not spend any money of it for a week to see if it is somebody that iknow or somebod has tracked it or something like that.

I would probably hold onto it for a few days and see what happens, you never know it could be traceable...lol..if not, actually I think that I would have to give it back my conscience wouldnt let me keep it , although I would love to say that i would love to have a good old spending spree..

with all hinesty, I will return it,I cannot live in peace with it and I wouldn't trade a peaceful life for any amount of money.so definitely I will call the attention of the owner and return it right away. I know God will reward those who do good.

Hi LightninStrike! If there is some identification card in the bag, then I would readily give it back. I wouldn't want it to stay in my hands for a long time because temptation may overcome me.(LOL)

....oooh....man !!! You've just put up 4 questions to answer. But you don't state it of how much money that will be in your imagination....$10...$100...$1,000...$10,000...$100,000 0R $1,000,000... but it is OK because you placed 'a bag' regardless of it's size. Firstly bank-in into my new account(nearest bank) just to ensure it is safe under my custody, refer to the documents (if any) in there and start contacting the contact number by using public phone (not mine), ask the owner to come to the bank(where I have bank-in) for settlement.
