Yes, not only in that trent bridge test but also in previous matches where the field umpires have gone terribly wrong in many cases, I feel that they should embrace the technology when available as it will not waste a wicket and will be fruitful for all the teams.

Its a bit difficult. If every decision is going to be taken by a third-umpire, why do we need someone on the field. Run-outs are referred already. If lbws are to be referred, then that leaves only bowled, caught and hit-wicket decisions. These modes of dismissal are quite obvious and doesn't need a third person. Bad decisions are part and parcel of the game. Football has this; Tennis has this. Everyone still remembers Maradona's golden hand goal in the 1986 world cup that sent England crashing out of the tournament. The bad decisions in cricket are not so bad. So, let us just leave it as it is. Thanks.

There have been many talks and debate on this same issue of referring lbw decision to third umpire. But as our cricket experts said that would finish every test match in three days and whats more it will kill time. Precious time would be wasted if every decision was going to be referred to third umpire. With the evolution of 20-20 cricket its important that draws are avoided in test matches or else we might have no spectators for test matches and everyone going to see the 20-20 matches. This was one of the reason given by many former cricketers and afterwards from ICC.

yes, as my think if any doubt having umpire in mind he should go for third umpitre. becuase one single wrong decision can turn the result of match. and also its change carrer of player. and also one wrong decision can change player minde also. so i think any decision, if field upmire having prob. have to ask to third umpir, about whatever, if it is RUN OUT, CATCH, LBW or any thing

I think there should not be further change in the third umpire status. LBWs should be given by the on field umpire. I think every once in a while wrong decisions occur in matches and that adds to the entertainment value of the match. Passing LBWs to third umpires might just trivialize the role of the on-field umpires and just to be safe all such decisions would be let to 3rd umpire, thus slowing the game drastically. So I for one think the game should be left as it is currently. Cheers! Ram
