I work in a office, and I use lamps to light my office with. I don't like the overhead florescent lighting. I like the softer lighting because it is easier on my eyes with looking at a computer all day long. The florescent lighting is harder on my eyes with looking at the computer and dealing with all the paperwork that I deal with daily.
So what type of lighting do you prefer? I know there are other types of lighting than the two that I mentioned, so which is your preference?

I have to agree softer light is easier on the eyes. Sorry it took me a long time to reply back.

One of my co-workers has lamps in his office and uses those to light it, instead of the overhead lighting. Unfortunately, I work in a big open area, which I share with one or two other people, so I am more limited in my lighting options. Luckily, we have really nice big windows alongside our desks. When it's really sunny out, I have to keep the mini-blinds closed, because the sunlight reflecting off of windows hurts my eyes. But when it is cloudier out, I like to let a little of the natural light in.

I am fortunate enough to have my own office, so I can choose whatever lighting I want. Though I have a windowless office and don't get the benefits of natural light.

I prefer florescent lighting, but the kind that is natural light. It is a shock when you look at yourself in the mirror at home, put on what you consider the right clothes, and then you go outside, look in the reflection of a window as you pass by, and you recoil in horror. Am I that person? I do not like incandescent light at all. It puts a yellow glow that make me not myself.

My eyes are kind of dry, so when I read the title of your discussion, I thought you were asking us what kind of lightning we preferred. I was like, none! LOL, I can tolerant anything, but I strongly dislike the fluorescent. I prefer a softer light, less yellow, and more like natural light. Lamps seem to be less harsh that overhead lights, so I'm kind of fond of lamps.

For me, any lighting will do as long as i can see clearly what i wanted to see..lol. In the house we don't have lampshades,we use flourescent lamps coz it is more clear.

I guess the important thing is what ever lighting you have that you can see clearly.

I have to agree that natural light is the best. I think they even make light bulbs that are supposed to be close to natural light.
