My horrible nightmare!

Last night I had a nightmare and I honestly don't know where it came from. Here's what I remember: There was a lady about early to mid forties. I'll call her "40-something" and then there was another lady in her mid to late 20's. I'll call her "the accused". I saw "40-something" slash her own throat in an attempt to commit suicide because she was possessed by a demon. The demon wouldn't let her commit suicide and was still alive, with her throat bleeding badly. But then the demon left her and jumped into "the accused" body to murder her. I saw "the accused" use a chainsaw. She inserted it into her belly and drove it upwards to her neck. It was a horrible bloody mess. "the accused" didn't remember any of it and I tried to explain to the authorities that it really wasn't her that did it. That it was a demon who had possessed her and that "40-something" was actually trying to commit suicide. But my words fell on deaf ears. All the while, I could feel the evil and I would pray. I confronted the demon with my words and with the authority that Jesus gave us believers and I prayed for God's protection and abolishment of this evil demon. The demon never left but he became powerless to do no more harm to anyone. But it also seemed like God couldn't hear my prayers because the demon had a power that blocked my prayers to God. However, my prayers did stop the demon but it didn't make him leave. That was God's job and my request went unheard. I awoke with the feeling of helplessness. I am uncertain if this means any thing or if it was just a nightmare.

What came to my mind when I read this was, the attack was against you. I would double my efforts at prayer and pleading the protection of the Blood of Jesus over my house and my mind and my family. I would plead the Blood of Jesus before I went to sleep over my mind and my dreams. I would ask that He protect my thoughts and let me dream without remembering, or to wake thinking of Him. I would ask the Angels of the Lord to surround my house and stand guard, "in Jesus name". I've experience demonic attack before, and it's not pleasant, and the devil just loves to use our thoughts and imaginations against us. I can't believe how violent this was. Another thing...I don't know if you are one that likes to watch violent or r-rated things...but, I don't do that anymore. Once you see something violent, the mind-picture is there forever in the back of your mind and can be used to attack you. The dream also could tell you that your prayers are ineffective! Don't you believe it! That is an attack also. God hears all of your prayers. I also, when I'm feeling a little vulnerable spiritually, will listen to more Christian praise music or Christian radio and try to read more of the Bible or more good books by people like Joyce Meyer or Joel Osteen or Charles Stanley. The more we put "good" stuff into our lives and minds, the more we are protected from the "bad". Take care...

Perhaps you might think about talking to the pastor about all of this, or even the pastor of the church you left. Spiritual guidance can always be helpful. I know the man is supposed to be the spiritual head of the family, but like you said, he has some growing to do and some learning to go through. A tough one for sure. I'll say a prayer for you.

When I think of other nightmares that I have had in the past, this one is the bloodiest. I don't understand that part of it. I quit watching violent movies and such like that. I did feel that my dream was telling me that I really needed to pray more than I have been. As far as believing if God is hearing me or not, I know without a doubt that He does. A few months ago, my husband and I decided to change churches but I am feeling unfulfilled there. I have been trying to figure it all out. My husband is a baby Christian compared to how long I have been one and he is going through things that I have already gone through. (Lord, this is tough.) I don't want to undermine my husband's spiritual leadership over the marriage and the family but I just think that he is being childish about it all and I am beyond that in my walk and in my growth with the Lord. This also is reflected in other areas of our relationship as well. Not just the spiritual.

It sounds like just a nightmare. The only time that God does not respond to our prayers, is when we have unconfessed sin in our lives. This is why we must confess our sins to the Father. The bible says that when we confess, he is faithful and just to forgive us. Did you eat Mexican food before you went to sleep? lol

LOL! I don't recall if I ate Mexican food but I don't eat it that often so chances are that I didn't. I got to thinking about this and I think the violence is something that is underneath. My husband also tends to have a horrible temper without much provocation and he displays it in such a way, that to me, has no maturity or self-restraint about it. The not hearing me part, is most likely from the perception I get when I try to talk to my husband about something that matters to me. Whenever I have tried to voice what matters to me, doesn't get my credibility because it most always ends up resulting in what matters to him and forget my concerns. And if I insist, he pouts or says that he has no importance. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!

Wow, I don't think I have ever had a dream so violent. Is this a first? Do you have something very intense going on in your life that may leave you open to a spiritual attack? Creepy dream!! I'm at a loss of what to say. I hope you don't have any more dreams like this. Keep your prayers going, for sure. Are you feeling that your prayers aren't being listend to in some important area of your life?

I don't think so. I have been plagued by a few thoughts about my spiritual life and trying to determine where I am supposed to be when it comes to where God wants me to be. I guess this would relate to my current real life circumstances however, I don't understand the gory nature of my dream. I haven't dreamt anything like that before.
