Im just curious if anyone has been getting some excessive "postcards" via email from mystery friends. I have been getting several kinds lately from several places being called several things. I dont go to the site or click the link cuase im a suspicious kinda guy. Anyone know what is up here? I know it is nto normal as i get liek 3 or 4 a day for about 2 weeks now and i dont know anyone who would do that so i dont bother with em and delete them immediatly. But what is it really? Some new way to try and download spyware or adware on our computers? Has anyone else encountered these and if so do you know what they really are?

I am getting a lot of them in my bulk mail. I just don't open them but delete them right away. I refrain from opening emails coming from unknown senders specially so they are placed in bulk emails. i consider them as spam emails therefore they should be deleetd quickly.

Yes, I've been getting lots of them. "postcards" from friends, family, coworkers, neighbors. They're all scams...DON'T clink the link. I've forwarded them to the different card sites so they can figure out whose sending them.

Yes I get heeps of them only coming to one of my email addresses though, my computer tech checked a couple of them out and told me not to open any of them as some have viruses in them so best to just delete them...they are a pest aren't they.

Yes, I am getting around 6/7 such postcards and greeting cards from unknown ‘friends’. I don’t know from where they are coming neither would I like to know. I had also received attachments with some mails and when I wanted to download them, I was warned by the computer as to potent virus threats. After that, I delete all such mails without even opening them.

Next time one comes to your email forward it to your mom. She will tell you what it is and where it came from.

I get them and I immediately delete them as well. For one thing I think they probably contain a trojan and for another thing, my friends do not send postcard emails. They are more likely to call me on the phone, give me an invitation in the church mailbox, or talk to me after church. I did hear that these postcards have a trojan on them, but I have no idea what kind. It must be extremely dangerous though.

I've heard that the Storm worm is running rampant these days, so I strongly suggest you refrain from opening these e-mails. You might also want to consider migrating away from Yahoo!, as they are a constant target for data mining. Your e-mail address will never be private with Yahoo!. For more suggestions on avoiding unsolitied e-mail, read this article: http://reviews.cnet.com/5420-3513_7-0.html?forumID=104&messageID=2409256&threadID=222541
