When you submit an article to AC, you can choose between Payment/Non-Payment. If you choose Payment, then yes, it will take a little while for the people at AC to review your article and make an offer on it. It can be as long as 2 weeks, but a lot of the time, it's closer to one week. If you choose Non-Payment, then your article will go up in a day or two at the most, possibly immediately. But then the only way to make money on that article will be based on page views. Personally, I think a couple of weeks isn't too bad to wait for publication. I am pretty impatient when I am waiting for my offers, but two weeks is a short waiting period compared to traditional print articles.
