WELL I HAve been hearing dis since childhood that blood is thicker than water but i hav always noted that down that is is totally wrong proverd as since child hood my uncles betrayed my father and my grand mother and my aunt and grand father was always offensive towards my mother instead of my mothers love, respect and care they were getting from my mother. but she let it go the same way but as we grew the tried to do the same wid us but i wud say they r still up to dis . but on contrary my dad's friend r always his helping hands and our friends r too(contrary to our cousions who r always busy in cutting our roots) i dont get what r they getting out of dis teasing and harming others.....so the proverb goes wrong.wat do u say

OMG I so do not agree with that.....My family has done me more wrong than any one ever could. I still atlak to my family. I keep no friends. I have had so many people steal and take everything that I own. I am a pushover and people get the best of me. I have had a sister sleep with my man 2 times. Another sister steal money from me repedatedly.......

Yes, I have heard this since I was a kid also. I think if my family member is wrong and depending on the issue I would not think much about the blood being thicker. If the Unibomer family thought blood was thicker than water, he would still be out their committing crimes so it really depends on the situation.

When people tell me that blood is thicker than water, I tend to add "and thus easier to choke on." The people who have shown me the most kindness in my life have never been related to me. My relatives starved me, beat me, nearly killed me, allowed me to be sexually abused, and abandoned me. So when people tell me that blood is thicker than water, I just assume they must have had a better family than mine.

I've been hearingt that sense I was a little girl also. my mother felt in the world there was no such thing as friends that God was your only friend and others around who were not family where only associates but I've food that not to be true as you there has been those in my family who has proven themselves to be dishonest and a very close friend of mine I have worthy of being more than just water but I conclude her to be my blood. although we don't biologically share the same blood her and I are one of the same and if Ihad to choose between her and some of my other family members she would come first. to me unconditional love comes from the heart.
