Healing Pain Through Writing

...And, I write. - In writing, I find my solitude.

When I was in sixth grade, I began to start writing. Of course, I got correction in my grammars and comprehension when writing essays about special events in our lives during that time. When high school came, I submitted articles in our school paper and became part of the school publication. I submitted reflections, poems and short stories. I also started creating blogs, online journals and private sites where I tell about my days and lessons that I learned from my everyday experience. Writing became my passion. It became my life and my strength. My pen served as my bestfriend who knew what is in my deepest soul. I write down my goals and plans. And when times become rough, when I can no longer take things and when life gives me a very hard blow, I write them down. I write my fears, my worries, and those that stresses me. At the end of my "outburst" on papers, I jot down the list of things I can do to be able to handle these negative energies. In writing, I found healing.

when i was in school i never got involved in the school newspaper or anything, but i did enjoy writing.especially when i was upset i use to sit in my room when i had a very bad day and just wrote whatever came to my mind.i ended up writing some beautiful stories that way and it kinda of healed me and made me feel stronger.i also use to write down all my goals in life and to this day i still have the one piece of paper from when i was in school with my life goals on it,and almost every goal on there i achieved.i still do have a few more to reach, which hopefully i will achieve.

Hi 3lilangels! :) I checked my journal too from time to time and it's quite fun looking at the things I wrote during the previous days, months and years. I wish you the best on your other goals! May you be able to achieve them! =) Take care and God bless!

I think it is wonderful that you can express yourself through writing. It is truly an amazing gift. I admire people who can write like this. I unfortunately am not much of a writer. Sometimes i wish i was. I think, since being here on mylot, it is the most i have ever written just by posting. And i love it. Best wishes to you, sr

Writing, especially when you are feeling low gives you a sense of accomplishment. Somehow, it diverts your attention from what's bothering you. It truly heals. I started writing very early in my life since I used to be a loner. Too bad, wasn't able to keep some of the writings I've done.

I can speak from a personal experience that writing really does help to mend a soul. I feel that I have been able to abolish my despondency by placing all of my depressive content into paper.. or web paper if it makes any considerable difference..

Hi zenmachado! :) Writing has become my shock absorber. My pen and paper are my emotional outlet. When I can no longer carry my burden, I write them down. And also, I have a private moment with God and lift up to Him every load that I bear.

Wiritng is a good and theurapeutic form of releasing hate since you are able to relate all the bad experienceds in your life and are able to channel you negative emotions on a blank peice of paper.Writing also helps you see your present problems and it allows you to work on what problem needs weeing out and solution

Good.Keep on doing that girl. That will help a lot since it enhances creativity and it acts as a form of "destress" agent since it helps you remove stress through opening dormant areas of your mind and spraks imagination.I only write good poems and stuff when i am on weed:)

Hi satansoldat_666! Yes, indeed. Writing serves as an emotional outlet. It gives us a way to divert our emotional struggles into paper. At times, I can also write poems and short stories when I am emotional.

We have the same passion. That's why, when I discovered mylot, i knew i was going to like it here. Here, one could write just about anything under the sun. You could express your deepest emotions and connect with somebody else who shares the same feelings. You are in the right place. I hope to see more of your writings here at mylot.

I have never tried it. I have some very deep emotional past pains, and I prefere not to think about it. Of coarse, that doesn't solve it, or help. But to talk or write it down is so painful. I am happy it works for you, and that you can do it. I just cannot bear to think about it.

Well, that is a good way to go about it. People have many ways of going about healing themselves and that way is just as good.

I've been one to write when I'm stressed/down/hurting etc etc since I was a little girl actually and though writing wont FIX the issue at hand it definatley IMO makes it far easier to handle and/or heal from when you do get all those feelings and thoughts out etc...

psychologist, psychiatrists, and many kinds of therapists use many forms of writing as therapy, and in the investigation of causes of disorders.

I can understand what you are saying. I have always written in a journal when to help to relieve my stress. I do some online writing, but most of the writing that I have done has been kept private because much of what I write is of a personal nature.

A new pad, a new pen, and the promise of what's to come. I love writting and even thought I don't get to write as much as I would like myLot is really helping me there (Thanks katiesmama!)I even got my hubby journaling a little here and there. It is very stress relieving to get all of it out, then later look back and say 'I could have handled that a lot better'. When you sit and write you get to organize your thougths and feelings and they flow out of you much like the ink flows out of the pen.
