Hi fellow country people who aren't on public sewer service. Do you know where your septic tank and leech field or other type of waste-collection-processing system is? My Father and Brothers ran a septic tank cleaning service during the 70s, 80s, and a couple of years in the 90s. Many people did not know where their tanks were or that they even had any. Some people poured cement over them, created a floor and put additions or garages over their septic tanks. Some people sold their septic tanks to the neighbors when they divided their land! Others bought land with the septic on the neighbors and got into fights with the neighbors who wouldn't give us permission to empty it. So do you know where your refuse goes? Do you know how to find it if you don't?

Keep in mind that I live between NY City and Montreal Quebec. Lots of city people move here. Other people just assume it's straight out from their bathroom area. There are people who have been told it's in one spot and they go to dig it up and it's not there. Either people forgot or the person lied to them.
Thank you for your response and I'm glad your kids know where it is. Maybe they won't drive a truck over the pipes, leech field, system someday (don't ask). Take care
