***WHO IS more ignorant: The man who fears the lightning; or
the one who doesn't respect it?
----------------------------------------------------
My friend Daniel posted this in Friendster bulletin. I reflected on it because too often, I made first impressions on people. At first glance, I prejudged them on the way they dress, the way they talk, the way they carry themselves. Yes, it's true that one should be at its best during first impression. But I just can't help but have my own views on a person on the first time that I meet him/her. [Of course, some of my impressions also change after some time once I get to know the person.]
-----------------------------------------------------
..... the danger of preconceived ideas/perceptions...
QUESTION 1:
If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids alredy, three of whom were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an ABORTION?
Read the NEXT question before looking at the response for this one.
QUESTION 2:
It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are the facts about three candidates.
CANDIDATE A - He associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologist. He had two mistresses. He also chain smkoes and drinks 8-10 martinis a day.
CANDIDATE B - He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.
CANDIDATE C - He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.
WHICH OF THESE CANDIDATES WOULD BE our choice?
Decide first.... No Peeking, and then scroll down for the response.
Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Candidate B is Winston Churchill.
Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.
And, by the way, on your answer to the ABORTION question:
If you said YES, you just killed Beethoven.

Pretty interesting, isn't it? It makes a person think before judging someone.
Remember:
Amateurs... built the ark.
Professionals... built the Titanic.

Have a happy weekend everyone! \(",)_
God bless! =)

Nice post! I think your first statement is a direct quote from Angels and Demons by Dan Brown.. I just finished rereading it and I remembered seeing that line.
About your topic, I guess we would never know what people are capable of unless they have done something. Its a good reminder for all of us not to be prejudiced, as they say, don't judge the book by its cover right? Have a good day!

Great posting. I read this years ago. It reminds us to never judge a book by it's cover, never to jump to conclusions, and ultimately that everything isn't black and white...
