Whats the main reason you fail to succeed?

As you all may know we have a few Internet millionaires who live in Florida So last night I went to a meeting where there were 3 of them talking before a very large croud of people. When they started talking about why people fail on the internet there were a few who left...why? because the speakers were hitting home when they said most people fail because of "FEAR" but wouldn't admit it. It seems to be at about 80% fear success while 10% doesn't. I don't know where the other 10% fit in. I sure would like to know in what percent do you think you are in? Think about this before you answer. Do you take chances...? or do you stay with a sure thing? Do you consider yourself a leader or would you rather just follow along with the crowd? Do you feel you will fail even if you tried your hardest not to? So you don't bother to try? Are you part of the 80%, the 10% or the lost 10%?

Fear is a big one for me..I do try and if I do fail, then it wasn't meant to be..That is the way I look at it. Sometimes I feel I don't have enough knowledge and that keeps me from starting something..I am all up for learning as much as I can though..Sometimes I think it has to do with money..I don't have the money to start anything. I am afraid of rejection also. If I don't try then I feel like a failure..my husband says that procrastination is one of my problems, and he also says that if I think something can go wrong then in my mind it will go wrong..I have a defeatest attitude..I want to try everything but I almost immediately talk myself out of it..Like now, I want to be an RN so bad, but for some reason I have not enrolled in a college..Why? I don't know. I have used the excuse I have no money, even though I haven't even applied for a loan. Another one is the drive to the campus..another bigger one is I am afraid of the dark, and I hate driving at night. Are this worthy excuses not to get my RN degree? No. So why am I sitting on my butt, afraid to make the next move...I know, it is sad isn't it? I fear everything...I think I need therapy..I do believe this fear stems from my childhood and I can't shake it..I want to, but for some reason I can't...I am part of the 80%...I am not afraid to admit it...thank you for this discussion.. It made me take a better look at myself..

Taking the first step is always the hardest. You just need a little nudge in the direction of which you have chosen but are afraid to pursue. Try asking someone who you think would support you in this to go with you. Shared fear makes your fear less. You could even visit a classroom on nursing with a friend. Set a date and then force yourself to do it. You sound like a person who needs someone beside them to do the things you want. This is a hard trait to overcome but it can be done with the support of your family and friends. All a thrapist will do is ask the same questions you are already asking yourself. Finding the answers within yourself is the hard part. Write them down and try to answer them truthfully, then work on one at a time. Please let us know when you get signed up for the RN classes so we can all congratulate you. I believe you can do this, now you need to believe it too.

Thank you so much..You really made me feel special...I have been trying to get my degree but my life has been pretty bumpy and now I do think is time for me to shine..I have 15 years of college under my belt. I have a 4.0 GPA..I love school and I love learning..It has been 12 years since I attended school..I know I can do it..I am 45 now and I have at least 20 years to work as an RN..I am going to start checking things out as of Monday..I think once I have funding it will be a piece of cake..Because without it I won't beable to do it...I am thinking positive and I really want this to happen..thank you again and I will go to the link you supplied me and check it out...thank you again....

I've had a lot of weird set-backs and detours in my life that held me back from going after what I wanted in life....a lot of it was caused by my mom believe it or not...her timing was perfect it seemed...everytime I was really starting to get ahead in life, wham, she create some incident that held me back..I think SHE had fear of my success as it would mean moving on in life and she would have to deal with everything, including her own life alone. Now that she's gone, I've been making the moves FINALLY, to go on with my life--as far as internet success...it really depends on what you mean...there are some legit internet businesses that I'm just plain not interested in...Yes, who wouldn't want to be a real success on some internet business, but if it isn't the type of work I want to do, I think I be missing my own goals and targets that I've wanted all my life. As far as taking chances, there again, it depends if it is in line with the kind of work I want to do...I'm so head-strong about wanting my OWN on-line photography business, on par with fellow photographer Seth Resnick of whom I've been in contact with. That's my targeted goal...yes I could see my photo work with microstock photo agencies, like iStockphoto, but why should I settle for royalty free rates, earning only about 25-cents a hit on my photo, when I can earn a few hundred....I'd feel I'd be selling out..and I definitely think my photo work is worth more than 25.cents--so yes maybe hooking up with iStockphoto could get me some kind of income, then again not...but I guess I just have my integrity here--LOL I guess in some ways, what I'm saying here, is that maybe the "fastest" way to earn money, necessarily isn't the best way, especially if it goes against ones principles--hope this makes sense to you in what I'm trying to say--my way may be the slower way, but at least it's on my terms

Thank you Kowgirl--another great saying is..."Do what you love and the money will follow." Better yet, the classic saying by Joseph Campbell "Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls." Always loved that saying

I think that "the lost 10%" belongs to those that don't fear success but don't have the guts to try the hardest to get it. Someone said in this discussion that people don't have the perseverance needed to get success. Leaving aside percentages, I think that both reasons for not getting success are real: fear and lack of perseverance.

The Biggest Battle in life is the one we fight with ourselves. The battle with our negatives and negativism and shortcomings. Those who fight with themselves always WIN in life. Those who fight with others always lose.

Great way of putting it. We all have to battle the fear within. Some can just do it better than others. Thanks for the reply.

I am an optimistic girl who always welcome challenges.I think what most people fear is not success but persistance to try to succeed. I believe that, to be successful we need persistance. Several years ago,I studied very hard and I applied to Yale. I thought I would make it because I worked hard and gained many achievements, however, I failed. At that time, I wondered if it's true that we would succed only we kept striving hard. During so many years after that there were many times when I made great efforts to do something to find it unsuccessful. But,I still hold the belief that a person with "never give up "spirit will succeed at last

I want to fall myself in what %? I can only tell I do not want to spend money on the net to make it and if the fear means this one then I am in them. If I can spend money here I rather use that in some offline business any kind of small or big....that would be more realfor me...hahah
