CafePress.com: Do you sell on there?

Does anyone use Cafepress.com to sell their custom prodcuts? If so, has it proven to be worth the time to create the designs and products? Do you see a good profit from it? This discussion is for selling on this site only (I've created one just for the shopping aspect, in the shopping category). I'm interested in how your CafePress shop is doing and what sort of membership you have. Thanks!

I'm a CafePress seller. It's going well for us since it's a store that's kind of affiliated with a forum and the forum members buy the items. It's a non-profit though, so our earnings isn't for our pockets! Lol. So far we're only selling tees, and a charity CD. I think it's a good place, but it's pretty pricey. If you want to keep your prices reasonable, you aren't going to profit more than $5 dollar per shirt for example, since the base prices for most of CP's shirts are so high. The quality of the shirts are great though, colors all come out perfect and they even allow shirts with thin lines and such (a lot don't). It's great, I just wish the base prices were cheaper. And we have the basic shop, which we're thinking of upgrading actually.

I've noticed that the prices are kind of expensive for some of their items. However considering you're getting a somewhat original piece, or much less produced I should say, then it's basically worth it. What is the organization that you have your shop for? I did read on their site that the premium sites do sell a whole lot more.

I haven't sold at Cafepress but I am a member of zazzle.com! I started designed two to three tops but I have never had enough time to do more there. I will go back to that later but not now. But I see possibilities of getting sales if you are really good or creative. It doesn't cause anything and you should give it a go later (after investing other opportunities online), but I think it takes time and luck for people to buy from you. So, I would suggest to check out when you have a bit more time and test out your ideas in the market, because you never know if people like them or not.

I'd not heard of zazzle, I'll give it a look as you said when I've got more time. I had a Cafe Press like 5 years ago and the only sale ever was a shirt I bought myself, lol. I love the shirt though so it's ok, lol.

I have two stores on Cafe Press. The first one I created for my fiance, just for one. http://www.cafepress.com/voteforwalker I also created a store for a book I published a couple of years ago. The title "Tak For Mad" is Danish for "Thank for the Food" since it's a cookbook of Danish recipes. The recipes are in English, the title is in Danish. http://www.cafepress.com/takformad
