The biggest walk-in closet!

Awhile back we lived in a cute little apartment that was really only big enough for one person. It had just one bedroom and a split living/dining area and barely three feet wide space to call a kitchen. It was way too expensive for the obvious lack of square footage. But it was a nice home, while we were there.
One of my favorite parts of our apartment was this huge walk-in closet. It was literally the size of the bedroom. The walk-in closet was so big that it could have easily been converted into a baby's nursery or child's play room (though we didn't have a child at the time). Sometimes I wished that they had saved themselves the effort and just added more square footage to our master bedroom and given me less closet!
So, what's the biggest walk-in closet that you have ever seen? Have you ever successfully converted a walk-in closet into another type room, i.e. baby nursery or spare bedroom? Please share.

At least you had plenty of storage sweety! When my son was a baby I lived in a converted bungalow! In the master bedroom there were three huge walk in closets and I loved them! We actually turned one into a computer room (this was 13 years ago) and office - there was enough room for everything - including filing cabinets etc - everything was organised and when I was finished in there I could just close the doors and it would disappear! xxx

That is a very clever idea. I guess I wouldn't have thought of that one at the time. But, it was the perfect size for a home office. Wish I had something like that now. Now mine are just plain closets, nothing walk in about them. LOL!

I remember, when I was a kid and we went to stay with my mum's cousin in Michigan, they had this walk-in closet in the bedroom that was actually shared between two bedrooms and acted as a passage between them. Well I was only seven, so as you can imagine I thought this was the greatest thing ever, that you could go into a closet and come out in an entire other room. Like Narnia! Except not that much like Narnia, because it was just another bedroom.
It probably wasn't all that big, but as I was only seven it seemed so at the time. Also, it impressed me because I am from the UK and we don't really do walk-in closets here. Our houses are generally smaller than American houses and it's fairly unusual even to have an en-suite bathroom.

That closet must have been so much fun. My brothers and I used to play games like that all the time when we were kids. For awhile we had a little play house in the back yard. That was hours of fun! Thanks for dropping by. Nice to see a new face around My Lot.

My current job has me packing people's houses when they move, and I've been in some pretty extravagant ones. The biggest I ever saw was literally the size of my living room (and I have a decent sized house) in a 15,000 square foot manor home. One side was dominated by her clothing, the back wall was racks where shoes were placed, with an area above where her purses were stored in boxes, and the other side was his clothing. Once you pulled the clothes off their racks and put them in boxes, there was another area nearer the wall with racks for 'storage'. Here they put boxes of old clothing, books and shoes that they either donated or took with them to sort out at the other end.
They were two of the biggest clothes hogs I've ever seen in my life, because they each had a dresser full of clothing on their side of the room, and the spare bedroom's closet contained her furs in addition to the massive closet.
My closet at home is tiny. It's actually 2 small closets, so one contains my everyday clothes, and the other contains suits, dresses, skirts and my hanging shoe holders from Ikea. I have to weed stuff out constantly to fit it all in.
