turn off the lights
Does your kid turn off your lights while you are working at the computer?

Just ten minutes ago, I was happily typing away here at my keyboard and getting lots of stuff done on My Lot. I haven't been so busy posting on My Lot in over a month. And, guess who popped into my home office for a quick visit? You guessed it. My little kid wanted to drop in to say "Hi!" to Mommy in the only way that she knows how, by turning off the lights. And, I'm not stupid enough to tell her not to turn off the lights again, or it would be the only thing she does from now on. She's at the rebellious stage. Tell her no even once and that's all she wants to do till she finds a new hot button to press.
So, now I am typing away in the dark, too lazy to get up and walk five feet to turn the light back on. Maybe I will keep a broom by my chair and use it to flip the light switch back on, without getting out of my chair, the next time she pays a visit and flips it off. I guess things could be worse. Just last month, she delighted in unplugging my computer every five minutes until it started showing error messages.
I guess she'll grow out of this light flipping phase about as quickly as the couple other hundred phases she has already gone through. Till then, I will sit here typing in the dark!

ha...ha....ha...showed that your kid is a clever person. She just needs your attention and feel loneliness, as her monther keep on 'punching' the keyboard and concentrate on 'one love' with mylot.
Thanks to your kid.......she know how to kidding around with her mother and that was the way how she showed her love to you.
What a pretty gilr that you have, I guess she will be 'somebody' in the future........convey my regards to her, just mention from Uncle Michael.

My son flips lights on and off when I'm trying to work, too. He's in bed now, though. But earlier before I put him in bed, he flipped the lights on and off.
It's something new for him to be able to do it, so he loves it. He's only tall enough for the light switch down here, because we have the computers set up in the basement. He can stand on the bottom stair and reach the lightswitch.
Usually he's pretty good about stopping when I tell him, though. But usually he stops with it off, so then I have to go over and turn it back on before he freaks out about being down here in the dark. lol

i don't have a kid yet so i don't really know... :-) but the only thing i know is kids are rebellious... you are right... the more you tell them no, the more they do it... so you are very wise in just letting your daughter to do it and ignore her... she will pass through that stage i believe... i think your daughter must be very clever to try to get your attention... please give her a hug from me... :-)

Hi,beautyqueen26!
In my opinion, there is no naughty child in the world. The reason why the kids always "interrupt" you when you working is that they just want to attract your attention on them.So they play tricks on us and make our work in a mess.
I think their naughty is another way to show their existences in the family.

LOL. You gave me a good laugh. I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time though. My daughter likes to sneak up beside me and push the restart button on my computer. I haven't figured out a way to keep her away from it yet. She used to like to turn off the lighted switch on the power strip, but I've been able to hide that behind my file cabinet.
Do you have a chair that rolls? You could just roll on over to the switch. hehehe. One of my favorite things to do - roll around the kitchen (where my computer is) to get what I need. :o)
