Between glasses and contact lens, what is your prefer to wear? Well, I use both of them. When I'm going somewhere or working, I use contact lens. And while I'm at home, I use glasses. Because I can't wear contact lens for a full day. My eyes will get dry and hard to blink. so uncomfortable. Which is better actually?

I wore glasses for a big part of my life for nearsightedness. I tried contacts briefly but they just never stayed clear for more than about 30 seconds. Finally I had lasik and don't need glasses to see distances anymore, but I do need them to read. One thing I miss is that before the lasik if I wanted to get a really close look at something, almost like a magnifying glass, I could take off my glasses and hold the object very close and see it realy well. Now that doesn't work anymore and I have to resort to a magnifying glass to look at something really close or sometimes to read really small print escecially if the letters and background are too similar in color.

I want to try lasik, but it still cost expensive. And I feel a little bit scary if I imagine how a laser gets in through my eyes:) I wonder, is there any guarantee if I do a lasik, my eyes will get normal permanent?

As with any kind of surgery there are no absolute guarantees. There have been several improvemants since I had it, so it should be safer and better now. I have a little starring effect at night around lights and since they tried to balance me having good distance vision and not needing reading glasses for everything, I'm still a little near sighted which only makes a difference at night when I'm driving. I need the small correction to read the road signs at night.

I wear glasses all the time. I don't think contacts are comfortable. And I like the way I look with glasses. I actually think I look better with my glasses on than without them. My husband likes the way I look with glasses on, too. They are also really easy. I can put them on while I'm still half asleep if I need to. The main drawback to them, for me anyway, is that my 18 month old is always trying to take them off of me. He thinks it's a game or something.

I that your kid? looks cute:) Well, I have minus and cylinder, so if I use glasses all day, I feel pain around my nose. Maybe too heavy. If I don't wear glasses or contact, I can't see clearly things around 2 meters. Thanks for you post. And say hi for your kid from me :)

I have the type of contacts that can be worn all day, even over night for a week or so straight. I haven't worn or owned a pair of glasses in years. To me they are more comfortable because glasses always hurt my ears and nose.

I feel the same with glasses, that's why I only use it while I at home. At least just for few hours before I go to bed.

I used to wear contact lenses. I wore them for about 15 years and wore them all the time. I never wore my glasses. I developed a problem with wearing contact lenses all the time. I got this yucky stuff building up in my eyes and it would go on my lenses and I wouldn't be able to see. So I would have to take them out and clean yhem off and clean out my eyes before I could put them back in. Then I would have to do this again about an hour later. I got such a build up of this stuff I could pull in out in strings from my eyes. I went to the eye doctor and he said it wasn't an infection, it was just from wearing contact lenses too much. I now wear glasses only. But one day I am going to try wearing my contacts again. Maybe my eyes just needed a rest.
