i believe this profond and affecting love story really moved a lot of people. it is not just love, in my mind, a quite intensive emotion to handle between love and hatred, between betray and regret.when the two have conflicts, how to handle and balance it is a problem. cliff choose revenge and regret to gain cathy's love, so brutal yet so helpless.

yea,you are right, this novel is quite unique from other english novel of its time and also from the older ones,it shows the more shades of a humans character and very successfully.catherine's character is likable.she is unexpectedly different from others.i regret the fact that emily bronte couldn't write more novels i m sure she would have written 1 or 2 more masterpieces.

i think humans are all greedy.we consider it good ,and we want a better one, then the best. sometimes i got really confused, why people are always wanting so many things?don't they think it'll be so crammed that we even can't breathe? and for another thing, what's our standards on the earth to judge works of some writer.i don't think a writer with a large amount of works can be considered good. a piece of work is enough if it is really brilliant.

yea it's true that only a writer with large amount of works cant be considered a good writer but the when i see the stuffs emily bronte had in her only novel i think that she would have written more great things cause she was deep into psychological things not just things that would sell easily, like agatha christie, christie also has a deep knowledge of human of psychology and she uses it in her novels, and that's why even after the fact that there are so many works (crime novels) from her, only a few dont entertain you.it's also true that there are also writer who's 1st novel or early novels only had good quality,i m not if e.bronte was one of them.yea what's wrong in it if we want to read more quality works? reading good things only improves one's personality.i like the idea of having books and books all around me and not anything to do except reading:).

who is Christie? i haven't read her works. yeah, it is really a pity for not having good works any more. especially for those crazy readers like you. i love the moment of reading.. i really hate my impatience for sitting long time to read.
