Depressed about depression

I was diagnosed with PND (PPD) over 12 months ago now and i feel like things are getting worse instead of better, and just knowing that makes me feel worse. i'm about to try my third medication but after coming off effexor i'm wondering if i should have come off it - i'm feeling so much worse now even though i didn't think it was helping. my pnd manifests mostly in anger (with the children mostly) and increasingly crying too. i just hate that i feel so out of control with it and the negative impact it has on everyone who is around me. i feel liek the worse it gets the less support i get from my partner and the less i want to ask everyone else (family, friends) for yet more help. so far i've tried - cipramil and effexor, exercise, diet, talking to a social worker and a psychologist and about it online. i also tried some natural remedies via a hebalist and natropath. i also have the kids in day care 1-3 days per week. i don't even know what the purpose of my post is, perhaps to see if anyone has any new ideas or advice for me?

Sweetie, who is monitoring your meds? Whoever it is needs to be aware of how long you have taken each one. Sometimes you need to reach a therapeutic level before it starts to work. Don't get more depressed because you still haven't found the med. that works for YOU. Sometimes it takes awhile. I was on 5 before I found anything that worked for me. Keep your chin up. You'll find the one that helps. :)

my Dr is, i've had the same one now since just after diagnosis (another gp in the same practice diagnosed but I wasn't happy with her so swapped) i was on each for quite a while. ig uess the effexor was working but the problem was that it made me feel so sluggish and braindead i couldn't stand it, so i decided to come off it.

Would your doc be able to alter the doasage of the effexor at all? Since that one seemed to be working...

Depression is a very disturbing situation which affects everybody in your social net-work, mostly, your immediate family! You need to continue with your medication and to follow Dr's advice, dont waste valuable time focussing on the fact of the depressing, put your mind on how to conquer it!

dont dispair my friend. i went through the exact same thing. i was crying constantly. i also had those feelings of anger but being a depression candidate since i was 18 i inverted all the anger towards myself. i felt like the most useless person on earth. most antidepressants only works in about 21 days. believe me, i have tried them all. the last one, prozac, did the trick.
