Quality of posts rather than quantity?

i try to aim for longer, higher quality posts and it annoys me when people post one word, nonsensical posts into a discussion, it doesnt benefit either one of us, so what is the point?

You've hit on my pet peave here in MyLot! Those one or two word responses really, really irritate me and like you said a lot of the responses make no sense. I do hope MyLot picks up on this fact when they disburse the earnings. It would be nice if they could pick up on it and get rid of the posters doing this type thing, however. I certainly know it would be better on my nerves. :-)

I've given up, lately I have been posting responses that are not quite as long as they used to be. What really happened is I realized that I will not be earning much from MyLot anyway so I might as well save my wrists. I still post alot and I stay away from one word responses but i don't have time for lengthy posts. I see how this type of posting is annoying coming from those trying to "Get Rich Quick" but I am not trying to get rich I just post for fun and to talk to my friends on here. If I can get my point across in a line or two that is fine with me.

the fact that people don't put any effort in and still expect to be paid amuses me... I am tired of seeing the same post copied and pasted into over 100 different discussions, I am tired of one word or unrelated answers and all these people are now being reported, not just by me, but by all the GENUINE people on here who abide by the terms and find this interesting rather than just quick cash :D

there is no secret, just write around 4-5 lines minimum and include details, descriptions and information :D

I always try to write thoughtful posts to the topics that I have something to share. It takes time to do that, because, first, I need to look for the discussion subject that I like to put my 2cents in, then I read all the responses already there, then I write down a response. Well, I might make to $10 payout sometime next year. Cheer me up, please.

I agree with you. It's refresshing to have an intelligent conversation after you post something. I think I read where mylot would prefer that we do this.

I agree, its supposed to be a discussion not a series of one word or one sentence statements

I believe it must be quantity with a minimum quality. After all Mylot is not "Made in China". LOL

Ya definitely its the quality of posts that counts but i still dont understand the idea that how the system differentiates between what is good and what is bad ? Even i dont like to respond to discussions which are meaningless but then i think of increase my ratings and have to respond to those one word or one liner discussions....

I too prefer quality to quantity, but some people do ask for just a single word as a reply. I sometimes find it hard to know what I can put down here which would not offend other people. How do you know what to leave out and what to write??

I think that you are onto something and that if we all put more effort into our discussions we could come up with some great answers to the worlds problems.

I fully agree with You, I have only been here for a couple of days and i have seen the fact of what you are saying working for sure Maam. there is no question that quality beats quantity otherwise the meaning and idea of myLot would be senseless and not worth it because there would be no decent answers to questions asked and the site would have no information quality

If the topics are not to your liking, move on, find a different topic, my opinion is if you have nothing useful to say dont say anything at all, there are tens of thousands of discussions on here, surely you can find one that is satisfactory for you to respond to.

that's right, if you reply with just one word, then you don't get anything for ratings and money. they are looking for serious commenter's for the topics that are placed on the table for discussion. people think I'll post one word and get points and my money will increase, that's not how it works, sure your rating will go up but your money won't go up like you think. if you want good money then you have to post a good comment.

I think both are important: quality and quantity. But is it a problem when an answer has to many words in it? Or is it any diference between a response which has 50 words and another which has 400? Does anyone know this?

Since Day 1 when I joined myLot, I've made it a point to respond in a way that would add relevance to the thread. Of course it goes without saying that I really choose the topics that I wish to participate in so I do spend time online without necessarily posting as many responses. I just feel that if I'm going to share my 2 cents worth in anything, it may as well offer new or additional insight to those who started the topic, as well as those participating in it.

I always try for quality. I hope that I can get actual discussions going, and it's worked a few times. Most of the time I get little responses that quickly deadend the discussion.

What may seem nonsensical may make a lot of sense to others. And sometimes some one word answers are quite appropriate. Of course when someone is gaming for points then it does gt irritating.
