How hard is it?

I borrow movies from the library and every once in a while we will get a movie that has been scratched so bad or has a fingerprint big enough to figure out who left it. What is on their hands when these people are touching the DVD's? And why are there 4 fingerprints on the playing part of the disc? Just because they are not your movies doesn't mean you should take care of them. Okay, I feel a little better.

Arggggghh! That drives me crazy! My husband and I have the same problem when we rent video games or movies from Blockbuster. We have had to return a few times because the smudges were so bad the movie or game wouldn't play. It's not that hard to watch where you put your fingers. You wouldn't mess up your own games or movies!

I've had a few come from Netflix that way, but for the most part have been fairly lucky. I think they may clean them or something before the re-ship them out.

I understand what your saying. I used to borrow them from the library and it always amazed me that I'd have to wipe the disc off before being able to use it. I think people just forget what common courtesy is at times and get lazy.

I agree, just because it is not yours, doesn't mean you don't have to take care of it. How would they like it if someone borrowed something from them and brought it back messed up? I think they would be mad.

I completely agree and it puts the library out because when you return it and let them know it doesn't play they have to either scrap the movie completely or go out and buy a new one... its totally not fair to them or us especially if we were looking forward to seeing said movie and it stops in the middle of the good part

That's nothing! I borrow movies for my son at the libirary. The last time i got one, someone had broken the DVD and TAPED it back together and put it back in the case. TAPED IT BACK TOGETHER! Obviously, it would NOT work in my dvd player. I took it back to the library and told them how I found it. The lady looked at me like I had broken it, but I didn't. I just couldn't believe someone had not only broken it, but taped it back together and then returned it like nothing. Atleast a finger print or 2 you can wipe off. I agree, people (some) do not take care of things that they borrow. Makes me mad. When I borrow stuff from people (or library, or netflix or wherever) I always return it back in the same condition. If I DO end up damaging I let them know and most times people are cool and they are more greatful that you were honest to them then getting whatever it was fixed. Okay that's another vent for today. LOL
