My Clematis is almost done for the year I think. I am not really sure becuase thuis is the first year I've had it flower for me. Anyhow this photo is one of around 15 or 20 flowers left on the vine. they are all dying off slowly as of late. When does a Clematis go dormant? How long does it bloom usually? I am new at this flower and would like to know any information you have about it. This way I can be sure to be pleased next spring/summer with it again. How do I prune it down for the winter time? Any help is greatly appreciated. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Thanks for sharing the picture of those beautiful flowers. I'm afraid I don't anything about growing them, because they do not like the Florida heat and sun. I have always thought them to be very exotic and lovely, though.

It seemed to love the heat and humidity and dry weather here in Minnesota this year though. Thanks also for the compliment.

Grandpa Bob- I don’t do much with mine- I just let it die off then I cut it down to the ground- It always grows back up the next year- usually more pretty than the year prior- Mine is still in a beautiful bloom- all over the trellis- I love it!
