Still Sagging

This is a shot of my Honeycrisp Apple tree sagging very badly. Especially the top of the tree. At the top center is the apple right at the bend in the top of the tree. It sags down to the right in the photo if you see. The tree has lost about 18 inches or 2 feet at top due to the sagging due to the weight of the apples. I have thinned about 2 dozen Apples from it yet it still sags. I have a bag of 24 VERY tart apples and domn't know if I should toss them or what. They seem too tart to use for making anything with them and they are only half the size of a ripe apple. So what shall I do with 24 tart under ripe Honeycrisp Apples?

Hahahah, Grandpa Bob!! You haven't seen crabby yet!! :o) Better keep those apples coming or I'll let ya have it.
I have a few hermit crabs and they love any kind of apples, either fresh or dried. My iguana also absolutely loves a fresh apple.
You're probably not supposed to, because of the wasting disease, but can you feed them to the deer up there?

Nest year you will know to thin the crop before the apples get very big. I know it is hard for us to waste food. Good luck have you thought about cooking the apples down to apple sauce and adding sugar?
Good luck and send me some apples when they ripen. LOL

I foiund the perfect recipe for tart apoples. It may not suit you so much, but your grandsons would sure like this:
In season: apples; Crunchy, sweet-tart apples are the quintessential fall fruit. Here are some fun ways to enjoy them at Halloween and all season long
Caramel Apples With Toasted Wheat Germ
Wash and dry 4 medium apples; twist off the stems and push a popsicle stick into the stem end of each. In the microwave or a small saucepan over low heat, melt 7 ounces (1/2 package) of caramels; dip apples halfway into the melted caramels, then into 1/2 cup toasted wheat germ. Cool, stick side up, on wax paper; refrigerate until ready to serve.
Serves 4 (serving size: 1 apple)

Thank you very much. I'll give this recipe to my daughter as she took the apples home last night.

Try making an apple pie with them, adding extra sugar to combat the extra tartness. Think my dad just tossed em into the compost pile when he was done thinning his trees.
