My experince with KOA

Well a few weeks ago I went on vacation. While we were gone we decied that instead of staying at an expensive hotel we'd stay at a KOA in the area we were going. I must admit that it was a great experince. The KOA site was locally owned and the guy who ran it was the owners son. He and his staff made me feel like family the whole time I was there. It was really hot, reaching about 110 that week. They allowed me to hang out in their store and cool off in the AC, charge my cell phone there and just kick back and keep them company. Even after they closed down shop for the day they came over to where we were set up and hung out. All in all I think they made a great name for KOA and showed real customer service. So if anyone is ever out in Hot springs, SD stop by the local KOA and spend some time there.

We have a KOA close by where friends of mine rent one of their cabins for the weekend and we go visit with them. The cabins have A/C there is boating and fishing right outside the door. I always enjoy the great time we have socializing with strangers eating, drinking and just having fun.

The cabins are really nice aren't they. We spent our last night there in one of their cabins, man was it great. It was nice to actually sleep on a bed again and in a room with A/C considering it was like 100 degrees outside. They aren't that expensive either which is really nice. I'm thinking that maybe if we decied to go camping during the winter out here we might go to a KOA or something.

We went in the winter too as they also have heating in the cabins. It was great!

I'm SO glad you had a good experience! It's nice to find places like that still exist.

yea it was really nice. The manager/owner was extremely nice to us. He even helped Dusty fix a part on his truck. Him and his staff hung out with us from time to time and just made us feel like family the whole time we were there. They are only open during the spring/summer months but next year if we take another trip out there we're staying at the KOA again.

KOA is the best! I've stayed in half a dozen different ones over the years, almost all family owned and operated. The service can be legendary at some of these places. I love camping there!
