I love rice and I would like some new recipes. Can you please give me some ideas? If you like rice can you please recommend recipe books containing relevant information? Thanks...

Well I wouldn't think it is but I am not sure, it is eaten a lot by the asian's and you don't see a lot of over weight asian people, although I was reading in another thread that is because they always drink hot tea after their meals which tends to flush fats through your system which sounds pretty logical...

I saw someone talking about this sort of thing on television and they said hot tea any tea so long as it is hot as that flushes fats through your system where if you drink a cold drink it solidifies the fats in your system, when you think about it, it is very logical....I never have a cold drink now with a meal.

All of the sayings above are quite interesting. what's more, I am a Chinese, and I like to drink hot tea. I like to eat rice and I am not overweight. But I don't think hot tea is the key point of keeping my figure. The important thing is that rice contains less calories than fat at same weight.

Indians have good recipes for rice. A simple way of cooking rice then frying it with peas, carrots, sweet corn, small peices of ham, garlic and good olive oil. You can use other kinds of oil if you prefer. Season with salt and pepper

Yes rice is fattening or maybe it’s the other way round. What I mean is that most people in the rice-eating zone of the earth (asia mainly) are fat. on the other hand, people who consume wheat (europeans and africans, are more or less lean. So does eating rice make asians fat or are the genetically flabby and rice just adds to it? I don’t know but generally I have heard that rice has water content which makes one fat after prolonged consumption. Being a staple of so many races, rice has many recipes. You can browse the net for different recipes from different countries.
