Happy parents emphasized that mistakes are a natural, necessary aspect of maturation. All parents fail at one time or another. There will be times when you should trust your children and you don't, or you don't encourage them when you should. But we're only human, and sometimes you have to cut yourself some slack.

Raising kids is a moment-to-moment affair. Each day demands on-the-spot decisions and jugdments without benefit of all the facts. That is why happy parents say: live in the present. Dont look back, except to learn. Don't look ahead, except to plan.
