With school education becoming more and more geared to providing successful career opportunities in an increasingly competitive world, arts such as music, dance, painting and theatre seem to be disappearing from school curriculum and syllabi. What can we do to cure this deficiency?

I am a teacher of 5 to 7 year old children. I agree that education is becoming more and more academic rather than creative. There is much testing and homework to do over the years that can make learning seam dull.
I taught in a school a few years ago that managed to get an award for arts it did. The deputy head teacher made sure all teachers increased the amount of Physical education like gymnastics and dance, Art like painting and model making, music with different instruments and drama activities. The children really enjoyed the more creative and hands on style of curriculum.
