What is the scariest color?

For me, colors have always represented emotions. Pink is for romance. Red is for independence and power. Yellow represents all things happy and new. White represents childhood. And, lavender represents tranquility. Those are just my personal interpretations of colors and I am sure they mean something different to others. But, one of my least favorite colors is green. Actually deep green. For some reason, I find the color to be very upsetting and scary. Perhaps, not the same kind of scared feelings that you would experience watching a horror movie, but it is still disconcerting. I don't like any version of green, including pastel green. I'm not sure why I would associate green with fear. Well, now you know something new about me that you didn't know before! So, how about you? Which color do you consider to be scary? What are your happy or sad colors? Please share your experiences with colors and their personal meanings for you.

Hello beautyqueen26, I love pink the most. It means love and happiness to me and like you say, it represents romance. As for green, I always associate the color with jealousy. Red means power and someone who loves red definitely a powerful, daring and brave person. Blue is a soothing color for me. It is all about patience and calmness. But the most hated/scariest color for me is definitely black. I don't like black color. It represents negative feelings such as fear, unsafe, worries and more...

Turquiose. Never cared for the color at all. It's unsettling to me as a color and as a stone or jewelery. I have no idea why. Black has always been a favorite. Maybe its the artist in me but I find it as calm and relaxing like walking in the night. 7

In my younger years I had VERY red hair, so I guess it was natural for me to like blue. For many years I had nothing but blue in my wardrobe. I would often go shopping for material for a new dress, determined NOT to buy blue, but - you guessed it - I would always walk out with blue material. I never saw any colour but blue. I still love blue, and most of my clothes are blue, but I do have other colours in my wardrobe now. To me blue gives an atmosphere of peace, tranquility and happiness. Red is the colour of adventure and danger, and of course, red roses for love. Yellow is a joyful colour. White is for purity. Purple is the colour of royalty, while lilacs, mauves etc are a mixture of blue and red, so depending on the mix, are somewhere between adventure and peace. Green? Green is a mixture. The right shade of green is peaceful (like fields of grass) and green and blue together has a calming effect, but dark greens have a totally different effect and are often depressing. Black? well, black is a mixture of all colours together, and no painting would look very good without black. Black is an essential and add highlights to all other colours.

The scariest color for me would be black. It gives me a creepy feeling when the whole thing I'm looking at is black. I like looking at green the color of the grass because it seems relaxing for me. Pink is a fun color for me which seems very playful. Gray is the sad color for me although there was a time when I really liked gray: gray clothes, gray things...I don't know why. I don't like red so much, its very bright for me. I like light blue because it gives me a really light feeling. I like white the most because it gives me peace inside. With things, white also denotes daintiness for me. Its just that my white stuff easily gets dirty. LOL. Have a colorful day ahead!

That's odd about green and you. You know statistically green especially on web pages is supposed to promote urges to spend money or relate to money. I guess you would be that one outside the statistics that gets freaked out by the color and leaves the page? I recently posted a sort of similar topic about something i read before, it was a study done on people color preferences and how they relate to there personalities. While i don't have a color i can say i "dislike" I would have to say sheds of purples are least preferred by me. They just seem dirty to me. I have an obsession with the colors red, black, and white. Dunno why, I've always loved those 3, red being the all time favorite.

I like lighter colors, but deeper shades of colors is usually OK with me as well. But growing up, my sister once painted all four of the walls to her room, a dark hunter green. I mean the paint can said it was hunter green. I got so depressed if I stayed in there very long! It just got to me. I found it depressing, but she loved it.
