Well I am 55 years old, so I guess you could say I have been going throgh the Mid life crisis for quit some time..I suppose how you handle it all realy depends on how much money you have.I have done so many things. I have had all the sports cars, the pools, fine houses. But right now, I am really over all of that. I have no money. If I could right now, I would be traveling all the time..But I am satisfied now with a nice car, a house that is paid for and trying to help my granddaughter have a good life.

Couldn't have asked for a better response. I would love to travel the world but i think that would be a problem for me since i hate boats and planes. Right now I would be satisfied for a 2000 model in a car.. I was hoping to get a new cavalier this year but I think I'll be waiting til next and just move the van up in yrs.

I've often wondered about this "mid-life crisis". In my time getting to near mid-life I have noticed things like sports cars and other luxury items are bought in this age group. But I personally don't know that I see it as a crisis. For those who start off young with families, they can't afford Porsches and vacation homes because the kids come first. But about mid-life, the careers are well established and the kids are out of the house. Now there is this extra cash flow and no demand for it. So off to the new car dealer to buy that car s/he's wanted since teenage, off to the Realtor for that second home, off to Neiman Marcus to buy jeans that don't last 3 years and all the other frivolity that wasn't within budget before. So I think it is a matter of reaching a certain freedom to indulge ones self and not really a crisis. But that's just what I think. The way it's going, I will be in 3/4 life crisis by the time I can buy my Porsche 998!
