have you ever experienced this? you're with your baby and somebody mistakes your baby boy for a girl? or your baby girl for a boy? did you get offended or did you just laugh it off?

I don't think there's any reason to be offended about something like this coz newborns look the same - feature-wise, that unless you already know, the one you see could be either gender. Especially if you are one who likes to dress their baby in whites, yellows & stuff like that coz both sexes could wear them. I did have a laugh one day though coz my daughter was dressed in a very bright pink outfit yet an older lady asked if it was a boy or girl - i thought it was very obvious but maybe i was wrong. I know people dress their boys in pink but i haven't seen any little boy in a bright pink. You're better off just laughing it off coz no-one's going to know if you have a girl or boy unless they know you :) Or maybe take a lucky guess!

baby toes - the cutest set of toes
Yeah, it's true, babies look the same. So no need to be offended. You should be offended when you dressed your baby as a girl and people asks if it's a boy. But on the other hand, they should be offended by themselves for not noticing but not you. =)

yes, i experienced that too. my baby was wearing a lt. blue romper and somebody still asked if he was a boy or a girl. i laughed and just said, "he's a boy." although he did look like a girl when he was just couple of months old because of his delicate features and he had long thick hair.

yes all my daughters, when they just a baby sometmes people think that both were a boy because my oldest daughter didn't have piercing in her ears and my youngest daughter because her face could be boy or girl. I didn't get mad at them but I told them instantly that they were girls not boys.

I'm not offended at all. I just correct them and laugh it off. People always thought both my sons were girls. With my first, I'm not surprised 'coz he did look one..lol But I don't think my second looks like a girl at all:)

This happens to me all the time. I have a daughter and ever since she was born everybody told me she looked like a boy (which she didn't of course). Most of the people who i meet outside the house end up asking me "what is his name?". I don't feel offended at all, i just laugh it off.

It would be silly to get offended over something like that because it happens all of the time. My son was always dressed very much like a little boy but some people just don't take the extra second to notice. I guess it is just easier for someone to say "is it a boy or girl". It never mattered to me. I proudly told them he was a sweet little boy.

The younger boys in my family tend to have long, pretty curly hair, my son included. Everyone used to think my brothers were girls, and they think my son's a girl sometimes now too. They all have gorgeous big eyes with thick lashes too, lol. My son's are blue, so everywhere he goes, people touch them for luck and think he's a she. I think it's hilarious bc he's such a boy, it's not even funny. Even in the womb, he was jumping around, kicking, and just wreaking havoc. No change now; he'll run through or over anything in his path. Some girl, lol. Blessed Be

This happened one time with my daughter. I was not offended because it was a nice older lady from church. My daughter was a few weeks old and I had her in a white outfit with little flowers on it (pink, purple, orange) and she had a pink blanket. I didn't understand how this lady could mistake my daughter for a boy, but oh well.
