do you think that men should pay the bill in the first date?

i know it can be sound old-fashioned but i believe that man should pay the bill in the very beginning of the dating period. i mean the first couple of dates are important and before you get to know each other well there should be some rules of being a gentleman. and one of them is to pay the bill when you go out for dinner or a movie or whatever. it is important to give the impression that you care for your date and you pay attention to it. am i being old fashioned or what?

I don't know if it's right for men to pay the bill in the first date, but in our country. Usually the men seem to should pay the bill as a genteleman.Most of girls or women also get used to it.So I have the same point with you!:)

i think so yes... specially when the man is the one who ask for the date. if they planned for a second one then i think they should be open enough to talk about who will pay or if they have to cheap in.
being old fashion is okay... im quite an old fashion too when it comes to dating.... but if the guy ask me out then he should pay the bill... it is not nice when a guy ask you out then ask you if you can pay the bill.

Perhaps I am a traditional person. I still think it's better for a man to pay for the bill for the date. It's a generous and kind behavior for man to do so. If the girl is nice and considerate, they won't make you spend a lot for it. Here when a woman pays for the bill, usually it means this woman is the man's wife:)
