What is your charity activity in life?

I usually prefer to donate to charities that I am personally involved with as well, so that I can see where the money goes and what the charity actually does to help people. My favorite local charity is a crisis hotline that also provides most of the victim services in our area. It's something that means something to me because I wish I had known about places like that when I was younger and in a bad situation and didn't know what to do. There are some charities that I will donate to without being personally involved with them, but I always do a lot of research first. Besides, it's nicer to be able to actually do volunteer work as well than just to give money, in my opinion.
