People have been talking about earnings lately

I knew I had been spending a little less time here because I'm so busy at work during the summer. And I knew it was taking me about 2 months to reach the minimum payout amount. What I didn't know was how different my earnings really had become in the past couple of months. In April, I logged in on 25 days and earned $11.24. In May, I logged in on 19 days and earned $4.77. In June, I logged in on 19 days and earned $4.50. In July, I logged in on 21 days and earned $2.73. So far in August, I've logged in on 6 days and earned $.53. I don't know if it means I've been reading more than I'm discussing...LOL...or I just need to log in more often. But it was interesting anyway.

I wish i have an idea how the payout works. But seeing that you get 11.24 in April with 25 days logged in... hmm. How many posts you posted or reply then for April? I guess every little things you do count, like uploading of photos, giving comments. Etc. Well I gotta spend more time exploring to have a better idea.

I usually try to track my earnings by looking at how many posts I made the day before and dividing that into my earnings for the day. I know this is only an "average" per post, so isn't very accurate, but it is as good as my math skills are going to make. I'm definately posting less than I used to, but I'm sure my quality is still as good as it was. I used to (a couple months ago)average about 2 cents a post, but now I'm usually averaging less than 1.4 a post. I guess it is because there are so many members now that they have to divide it all between. Oh well, I still mostly do it for fun anyway, so I guess it doesn't bother me a whole lot.

Well, I'm not here for the money! LOL. I enjoy reading and posting. Anyway, are you saying you keep track of how many discussions you answer when you are here?

Sort of. I just look on the "discussions I have responded to" page and count how many I did the day before. I usually only post 5 or so answers a day, so it is pretty easy for me to track.

Yes, my earnings have dropped off significantly also. But when you need the money, it is best to get on in here and gab a bit. Do you agree. My referrals aren't earning me much either. I have stayed busy with my online businesses. School will start soon, and I am trying to get home health jobs...so we will see how much my earnings jump up with school in session.

Mylot will not reveal how the payments are calculated, but I have noticed a nice steady increase..I seem to notice this because I know that I have been putting in an effort with everything that I have been doing here..

Does the length of your responses to discussions effect how much money you earn? Do you need to start a discussion with a certain amount of sentences? Thanks

Mylot suggests that they like great quality discussions, So I would would presume, at the very least 3 lines..

I think it depends on how long your posts or responses are. Now me, being a writer, we are told to be concise, that why write four sentences when two will do, but apparently that does not work for myLot. It seems that you have to write a real good article of more than five lines in order to get a decent rate and for me who does not want to read unnecessary material as everything someone picked up before describing what the real problem was ====finding a rare coin or whatever, is kind of boring. Keep responding that is what I do.

I agree with you. My college English Prof.'s always said get to the point. I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but I've heard that it's about 1 cent for 25 words. And about 1 cent per picture. I don't know how true that is, but it does seem about right.

Without a doubt, we are getting paid less. But some posters don't talk about it as nicely as you do. They really raise a ruckus! I'm just glad to be getting free money, you know what I mean?

I checked my earnings from 30 days in January at $26.34 and 30 day in June at $9.94. As I pretty much spend the same amount of time each day this is an enormous drop. This is due to lower earnings being given by myLot for responses, deleted postings, etc and my general lack of enthusiasm due to the large change in the administration of the site.

Wow, I just can't believe those numbers. I must spend way too much time here or something. I don't even log in everyday, and I've never not made minimum payout amout each month since I've been here. In fact, there were a couple of months where I made about $35, though I must admit that past couple I've made between $10-20. Since I know it's not that your posts aren't quality, I wonder what's the difference? Maybe I really do spend more time on mylot than I realize! I didn't have any active referrals until this month, so I know it can't be that. I think I need a life. =p

Yes, I think I really spend too much time reading from emails and deleting and don't answer enough discussions for my time here, but only have an hour or so except on my 3 days off. Too busy at work...too bad work is cramping my style here! LOL

I've been a part of mylot for almost eight months since I registered but been active for the past two months only, In July I promised to be active so I can qualify myself for first ever payment of mine this august, but due to unavoidable circumstances.. I wasn't able to logged in as many times possible.. huh! I aim to hit my first payment this month..and I am excited to share how much I am going to make. :)

lol Sounds like your doing one of my numbers on any given day/night. I tend to read more than post here. Takes me several months to make the minimum payout here.

Yes we are talking about earnings around here and I seem to find that my earnings decrease dramatically after May. I don't know why but I don't seem to make good earnings after May and it's quite disappointing to me. Even I make the same posts everyday around here and the earnings just dropped. I really hope to reach payout this month and I will work hard on here, hopefully to achieve my goal.

When i did a post about Is there a method to the madness, Someone wrote to me that if i start about 3-4 conversations a day. In the new discussion i had to write 8-10 sentences as well as respond up to 30 comments and have 10 picture uploads a day i could earn 1.20 a day. It could be more but that sounds about right! I know it seems like a lot of work. And trust me it is especially if your sitting at a full time job trying to make some extra change. But i found that when i first joined i was all for it. Now the novelty is wearing off. I hope this helps you.

I think the earnings aren't very high but well I'm still here. I treat it as a venue to let off steam and the discussions keeps me happy as I am able to air my views without any immediate direct confrontations as compared to if I were to air it verbally directly. My point of view is respected here. cathylmg http://govege.blogspot.com

not sure why that happens to you. I never pay attention to my earnings anymore these days. all I know is that if it's down today it will go back up tomorrow, that's what keep happening to me. I regularly post a certain amount so I can see the trend, but this summer it's erratic so I just can't tell whether it's up or down

you know the bracket of your earning??? pretty cool... i used to check my account in mylot everyday. sometimes i got .25, .40, .15, .30 increases per day... i am most on responding than making discussion.... ^_^

As a newbie, I find this discussion interesting. I have been curious about the amount of money people are making, so thank you to all who set the record straight. I do agree with some of the other posters though, even if the earnings are small, it is nice to get paid even a little for something I would be doing anyway (posting on forums, I mean). And, every little bit does help (especially when you are trying to get out of debt like I am!).
